34. So the Chief is now on the side of the angels. Do Lexie and Aidan accept this too easily?

35. Oh no! One of the twins is dead. I didn't expect this and was sure that the one who wasn't taken would say something about them switching places :0(

While it is harsh and unexpected, it is very realistic.

36. The dead twin is Jenny. Did you guess?

In hindsight, I can see that we only ever got Taylor's POV so that was a huge clue.

37. Are you closing in on any suspects?

Underwwood owns the Terrtown house (not surprising) but is he the Ghoul?

The Ghoul is sure Vonnie will know him and Taylor thinks she recognizes his voice. I'm leaning toward the Vice principal, Mark Young. I'm also more convinced that Kenny is Jed.

Sorry guys but I can't answer any of the DQs as I can't remember what was covered in those chapters, and I don't want to give up any new information accidentally. I knew this would happen when I finished the book!!

I will jump back in again when you guys are done reading.

I have had a look and there is only one other book in this series. So disappointed there aren't any more :( I really enjoyed this one and hoped for at least a four book series.

Chapter 8
21. What do you think of this new ability Aidan seems to have with Lexie? He says he has never experienced anything like this before. Why do you think he is experiencing it with Lexie?
Because she’s his soul mate? Destined to be the love of his live?

22. Aidan feels attracted to Lexie and after sharing her dream, wants to progress to a physical relationship with her, but without letting her get too close. Do you think he will be able to have just a physical relationship without the emotional?
No way, no how. LOL!

23. Lexie goes to visit Vonnie's mother, but doesn't find her at home? Where is she? Do you think she has gone to the police station?
Probably. She’s after what she can get. Either that, or she’s strung out somewhere.

24. We get to meet most of the rest of the eXtreme Investigators. What do you think of Julia, Mick and Olivia? What about Morgan?
I like them. I was disappointed that there aren’t stories on all of them. Morgan being a ghost was quite a surprise.

Chapter 9
This chapter had my most favourite scene from this book so far: Aiden and Lexie in each others arms after her attack.

25. What did you think of the embrace between Aidan and Lexie after Lexie's attack? This is their first contact since they have shared their dream. Are you surprised at the ease with which Aidan is able to now touch and embrace Lexie?
It was nice. Of course, the nurse in me kept thinking she really couldn’t be enjoying that kiss and the strain on her neck. Sometimes I just need to tell that part of me to shut up.

26. We get to hear more from Vonnie and the abductor / serial killer, and as to the reasons why he has taken Vonnie and why he is doing this. After reading this part of his story, do you feel any sympathy or understanding towards why he might be doing all this?
Nope. I think he is sick and twisted.

Chapter 10
27. On p. 195 we read about Aidan expressing his hopes that Lexie might be the one to "...help him recall all he'd been missing about a normal life." Are you surprised by how quickly Aidan's defenses are coming down around Lexie?
A little. But, in defense of the author, I do think that dream Lexie had makes the fast connection much more believable.

28. A couple of times now it mentions that Aidan is no longer able to reach Vonnie. Do you have any thoughts as to why?
Nope. Seemed like a twist to the advantage of the author. I mean, she wasn’t drugged at that time or anything.

29. Towards the end of the chapter we find Chief Dunston having a bit of a change of heart now towards the goings on in his town. Are you surprised by this? What about the people he sees going into the building? Any thoughts on the newcomers?
I was very surprised and quite disappointed by this. It is too hard to believe that he would change as much as he did.

Chapter 11
30. What did you think about Aidan's reaction to the House? Were you surprised by any of his sights? Had you been expecting it to have harbored these types of happenings?
I was a little surprised that he had these types of reactions. I didn’t think his abilities when that way; in fact, I thought the author said at the beginning that they didn’t (touching things). Unless, it is the ghosts… in which case I think that is more in line with Julia’s abilities.

31. This chapter ends on quite a cliff-hanger! Which one of the twins is taken? Is Jenny ok?
Eep! I wasn’t positive which twin was taken, but I thought it is Jenny, since she was tossed the keys to drive.

Yes, it was pretty funny. I actually liked that she kept say, “Why didn’t you lock the door.” LOL!

Yeah. He’s an idiot. Most people will feel stronger when they have someone in the same predicament as them, and “bond,” if you will.

Definitely. There should have been more suspicion there.

Yes. Very said. I was definitely not expecting this and it took the book down for me. I don’t know that his taking one of the twins – and doing so while they were together – even fits in with his M.O. The whole thing doesn’t make since to me. Who the twins are and the attention it will bring changes everything about why he’s doing what he’s doing.

45. The epilogue was a bit different, but at least we have an answer to the smell of peaches. What did you think of that? Although it wasn’t quite wrapped in with a bow, we did know that answers.

39. I had it narrowed down to Young or Wilhelm and the latter came across as smarmy rather than sick.

40. It was a pretty good plan but I'm still amazed it went so well. The Ghoul seems too smart to fall for it though.

41. That was OK to me. They called Dunston who was on his way and actually only Aiden went in when Taylor came out running. Although not an official police officer, he did have the training.

42. Running was the smart thing to do and I hope I would be able to and not freeze in fear.

43. Not surprised. That girl had a backbone of steel! So glad that she was taken in by the Kirbys. She deserves happiness.

44. Yes, I did like that she didn't hide it from him. I hate silly misunderstandings that stem from that type of action.

45. I'm glad that we learned the truth even if it wasn't wrapped up. Evil woman!

46. I liked the characters, especially Vonnie, Taylor, Aiden and Lexie. The romance was alright but not the most intense I've read - the suspense plots in Cynthia Eden's RS are similar although the romantic elements in her books are better. I also enjoyed Aiden and Lexie's banter.
