a man managing a small airport out in the middle of nowhere get handed the keys to a spaceship. The recruiter who handed him the spaceship was short on details but he did scan in a hamburger so that it could be uploaded to the replicators on a moon base. So, this guy found himself in charge of a moon base, a spaceship, and a mission to defend earth from some uncertain enemy. At one point, he manages to get the replicators to make a lightsabre and trashes a table in the cafeteria of the moon base. the rest is a bit vague.

I read it in the last 5 years. I thought I read it on my kindle and I have been skimming the device library but the title is not jumping out at me. I just remembered a bit more. The hero has a love interest who is a bit younger than him and from the town that was working in. The airport that he runs plays a role because he initially uses it to transport recruits to the moon in a spaceship disguised as a passenger airplane.
