Hey everyone! Just a few things that everyone should know about this book club before we get started.
First, if you still need a copy of the book so that you can start reading, be sure to visit the library ASAP and talk to a Children's Librarian. As of this moment (June 23) all paper copies of the book have already been check out by eager teen readers. If you still need a copy of the book, we will have to place you on the hold list so that you will get a copy of the book when one is returned by another reader. Those of you who have already finished the book: Please return it to the library ASAP so that someone else can get started on the book. Thanks!
The good news: Copies of the audiobook remain! Pick up a copy of the book on CD at the Children's Desk soon before those run out too. I have listened to this book on CD before, and it's actually a lot of fun to listen to. The narrator is fantastic and makes the story come alive.
For the first few weeks, we are going to try to limit discussion of the book to topics that will be introduced during the first 20 chapters of the book. During this time, please try to keep your posts spoiler-free so that the ending isn't given away to someone who hasn't finished reading the book yet. Starting on July 7, however, all bets are off and we will begin discussing the ending of the book. If you haven't finished the book by this time that's absolutely fine. Take your time and finish whenever you are able. Just be warned that there may be some talk about the book's ending here.
Do you have other questions about the book club? Post your questions here, or visit the library and talk to one of the Children's Librarians.
