Chelsea | 562 comments Did this book remind you of Museum of Extraordinary Things? Or was it just me? Maybe it was because it took place in the same time frame and photography was important in both. Idk, but I felt the style was similar too. Anyone else? Or is my brain just weird?

Chelsea, you and I chatted about this just over a week ago. Now that I've read almost all the book, I can see the similarities between the two. That was either my least or second least favorite books we
read. Not here to hurt anyone's feelings, just was not my favorite book.

Cindy | 522 comments I hadn't thought of this while I was reading but I guess there are some elements in common. The main thing they had in common for me was that I really enjoyed them both. One of the best things about being in a book club is that we're all different and like different books. Other than the books I chose as favorites, "the museum of extraordinary things" was my favorite we've read!

Darlene Could it be that the writing styles were similar in these two books and that is what makes you think that? I am thinking that they are somewhat similar as well, but can't really put my finger on the reason why!

Cindy | 522 comments I think Allende and Hoffman both include religion (catholic and Jewish respectively) and a bit of magical, mystical stuff too.
