Would you want to be a vampire?

I've got to say it was a straight out no to being a werewolf for me but a vampire is kind of tempting! The strength, speed, jump and heal abilities are awesome and the cool shops (at least in franklin grove) are tempting even for me who hates shopping!! But overall I'd have to say no - I will stay as my boring old mundane self. I hate meat and I wouldnt like to watch all my human friends die (duh).
What about you lot?
I agree!I wouldn't want to leave my friends.
And I can't tell them who I am so I have to leave them and go live somewhere else.
Too hard!!! I agree with what you two have said but the advantages are really cool and it's making me ponder. I think in the end I'd have to say no. I'm not saying being a human is better than being a vampire but I don't think the advantages are good enough to make up for the fact that you'd have to watch all the humans around you age and die as you stay young for years, and that you'd have to drink blood and stuff.
There is a whole lot of cool stuff that comes with being a vampire but I don't really think I need supernatural strength, speed or any of the rest of it! Sure, the healing thing is useful but it would be really hard and annoying to have to keep such a giant secret from all the humans around me. Although riding the Holiday Bat does sound really fun . . . (lol)
I agree too, being a vamp would be cool but I don't think I will be able to lie about such a big thing to my friends and family.:)
Well, if you were a vampire your family probably would be too so you wouldn't need to hide it from them. Unless you were like Ivy, with one vampire and one human parent. That's quite rare though. I guess your friends could be vampires too, so you might not even have to hide it from them either. You'd probably still know quite a few humans though... :)
Yeah but still it will be hard hiding from my human friends (if I ever become a vampire)and I am not at all good at lies.:P
i guess that i would want to be a vampire.1. because i would like to NEVER die.
2. it seems pretty cool in ivy's P.O.V
Really Joey? I don't think I'd like to never die. But you're right it does seem pretty cool from Ivy's POV.
Yeah, living forever would get really boring after a few thousand years I'd imagine. But actually does it say in the books that vampires live forever? I thought they just lived a really really long time.
Ooh, actually I just had a thought. In Date With Destiny (MSTV #10), they mentioned Shakespeare being a vampire, and they definitely talked about him in past-tense so I'm pretty sure he didn't live forever.
Personally, i think that being able to live forever is a little creepy i guess. Unless you like don't age, which I think is the case according to the " My Sister The Vampire Series". If you get to live forever you would never have a bucket list! ^^ * bucket-list- list of things that you would want to do before you die which i would probably never if i were a vampire! :P
Yeah, I guess having a bucket list when you could live forever might help stop you being so bored. :D
Oh, yeah. Definitely want to be a vampire. The vampire world in MSTV is just too cool to pass up. :PI can't remember if it was "Switched" or "Fangtastic," when they were trying to figure out how Ivy and Olivia could be twins, that they mentioned a human would probably die if bitten by a vampire, but if not, they'd become a vampire. So I guess the question is... Born vampire, or made vampire?
If you're born a vampire, you don't get to choose to be a vampire or not. If you're made a vampire, there's a chance it might not work and you'll just die. (Also, you have to know that vampires even exist first)
I don't think I'd take the risk and agree to being bitten by a vampire. If I was born a vampire though then I wouldn't have a choice and I'd have some awesome abilities (what I'm saying is even though I wouldn't choose it I wouldn't hate it if it turned out that way)
According to Fangtastic, it's against the law for a vampire to bite a human, and it's even described as "incredibly evil." So it seems to me that even in a safe atmosphere where both parties give their full consent, it's still dangerous for the human. Sophia calls it a "one-in-a-thousand chance."But if a deranged, cruel vampire were to bite you, and on that odd chance you survived it, you wouldn't have the cool vampire eyes (confirmed, Fangtastic). You also would age normally (unconfirmed--I think maybe Switched said this.) Perhaps the trauma of it all isn't worth the result.
I don't remember them saying you wouldn't get the vampire eyes. That's an interesting point. If you would also age normally what powers do you get. I'm guessing the extra healing, jumping and hearing abilities. What else? Also, if you were to be (illegally) bitten by a vampire and by some lucky chance you survived do you think the vampire community would be accepting? I'm thinking that maybe they wouldn't - they were eager to wipe Olivia's mind.
Surely if you didn't have the slow-ageing ability you wouldn't have the healing either? Those two just seem linked in my mind. I agree you would get the super senses like eyesight and strength, and I reckon you'd get the teeth and need for a bloody diet too. I guess the vamp community would have to accept you? I mean, you are a vampire after all. You'd probably have to take the Blood Tests that Olivia took, and if you passed you would be accepted, if not, then you wouldn't be.
I think perhaps the vampire community would pity you. In the first place, you've gone through all this to become a vampire. The books make it sound painful and traumatic. Then, maybe they'd treat you either with pity or disdain for being, well, not as vampire as them. You didn't grow up in the community, and you lack some of the cool powers. Or maybe jealousy for some?I wonder if all their data comes from reports written around the Middle Ages, when vampire attacks on humans were more likely. Or if there are a few cases in the world today. Ivy said something about how a human hadn't been bitten by a vampire in years. Maybe the vamp community really is this effective, or maybe they cover it up?
Either way, being a trans-vamp, as Fangtastic called it, doesn't seem much better than just being born a vampire.

Advantages to being a vampire:
You can live for hundreds of years, ageing really slowly.
Super strength, speed and general agility.
Advanced eyesight, hearing and sense of smell.
You have permission to enter all the secret vampire establishments such as BloodMart and Cruellers.
You can ride the Holiday bat at Christmas!
Your body can heal any physical injury.
You can have access to the Vorld Vide Veb.
Disadvantages to being a vampire:
You have to wear contacts lens all the time to hide your true eye colour and protect your eyes from the sun.
You can't eat any garlic.
You have to wear special suncream in summer to protect your skin.
You will outgrow all your human friends by a long shot.
You have to get your fangs filed regularly.
As you grow up your powers might start getting out of control. (like Ivy MSTV 10 - 11)
Other things to consider: (could be disadvantages or advantages)
You have to sleep in a coffin.
Your body will need a higher iron intake than for humans. (a bloodier diet, in other words)
Marble white skin.
