Unwind
question
If every part of you is alive but in a divided state, are you dead or alive?

Just like what Hayden asked in the crate, what do you think? I've been thinking about this for a while now. Will your soul stretch out like a balloon connected to all your parts? *SPOILER ALERT* Do you think the thing that happened at the end, where everyone that has something of Humphrey's, come together and are able to have a conversation, could really happen?

I don't think it would happen like that. I think that when the person was unwound, it would be like dying except the cells in their body would continue to live, but their consciousness would leave. Also, i don't think the oxygen-rich solution would work, I don't think the method used in the book would actually work, but it was an interesting concept.
Since souls don't exist really I would say your conscious mind is dead but your tissue is alive in other people. Kinda like when you donate a kidney that person isn't really a part of you.
If we're going the Neal Shusterman route... I'm thinking an Unwound kid goes to Everlost. It's purgatory.
