Kristy (kristylytle) | 84 comments That stinks about having to pay tax on it but since you're in the same state hopefully you'll get your box quickly!

Started a new thread for us

Melissa ♥ Dog/Wolf Lover ♥ Martin | 2262 comments Because the postal service is in crack. Seriously. They don't half know what they are doing. Grrrr

I'm glad I didn't go with PageHabit but I still keep a lookout. Obviously, I did not enjoy Final Girls and, while it had some moments, I found The Grip of It average. I certainly didn't need two copies.

Oooooh good to know! Yes I didn't enjoy Final Girls nor would I classify it as a horror novel. I haven't read The Grip of It but I would also be annoyed if I got it twice. I almost signed up for PageHabit. This makes me glad I decided not to!

Melissa ♥ Dog/Wolf Lover ♥ Martin | 2262 comments I loved Final Girls and I got an awesome colored copy from Book Depository. I haven't read the books from the Nocturnal box yet and I'm already excited for the next one 😊

Lena | 2679 comments I had never heard of that box before. I looked it up on YouTube and it seems like one or two small indie horror books and some swag, some of it Hand made and even edible. I think it's a good price if you looking for mostly swag.

Lena | 2679 comments Yes, two to three books. One just published, one a little older. Also, there is a chance of getting signed books. I lucked out big time and got two signed books. There's a good bit of swag too but it's about double the price of Hedren's Chest. You should get in on the October Box if nothing else - it's promising to be killer!!!

Lena | 2679 comments I did sign up for http://www.mythrillclub.com so I am looking for cheaper boxes too. My Thrill is $14.99, no US shipping, you get two books and a movie. Neither new but looks like no more than four years past release. We'll see how it goes.

I honestly had no idea there were so many of these subscription services. I'm trying my first one with Nocturnal starting next month. It kinda has the feel of getting a birthday present each month.

Me either. I was really surprised to find out there were so many to choose from.

Book Box I made myself from the sale racks at BookOutlet.
The Hunger - $8.59
Love in the Age of Mechanical Reproduction - $2.19
Dead Iron - $1.89
The Waking Engine - $1.29
Shipping - $5
Total - $18.96
Other than The Hunger I had never heard of these books but the blurbs and prices looked good!
FYI BookOutlet just started a program where I can send $10 coupons to anyone whose never tried them before and subsequently receive one myself. PM me if you are interested!

So this was September's Box. I did want that copy of Doctor Sleep but I'm ambivalent about the rest. I'll give them one more month but I think we'll be breaking up.

Lena | 2679 comments My mother absolute loved the first book she received, out of the six month subscription I bought for her birthday, from Brilliant Books - Susan Wigg's Map of the Heart. Mom burst into mom tears talking about how good it was - Brilliant Books has a reputation for these mind/heart reading selections. She has already strongly suggested that another six months would be an excellent Christmas present, lol.
