Q&A with Sawyer Bennett
Laurice Joy wrote: "Who is your favorite author?"As far as romance is concerned, Kristen Ashley is my go-to. She writes the BEST alphas!
J. wrote: "if you could be any book character for a day, who would you choose and why?"Oh gosh. Can I totally cheat and use one of my own? I'd want to be Casey Markham, because Tenn Jennings pushes ALL the right buttons for me! (For those that might not be familiar, Casey and Tenn are featured in Shaken Not Stirred, the fifth book in The Last Call Series).
Karen wrote: "Does music inspire your stories?"I actually doesn't. I have such tunnel vision when I write, that even if music was playing, I wouldn't hear it. And honestly, I'm a rock girl. While Rob Zombie is great at pushing me through a workout, not so great at putting me in "the mood". ;)
LeAnn wrote: "Happy Sunday, y'all! We have the fabulous New York Times and USA Today best selling author Sawyer Bennett joining us for a Q&A over the next two weeks! Sawyer is the author of [b..."
Thank you, LeAnn! Excited to be here! xoxo
You have written such a wide range of romance books, which sub genre is your favorite to write or play around with? :)
What was the most challenging book you wrote (for whatever reason)? And if you weren't an author, what would you want to be?
Katrina wrote: "Whats your favorite book that you have written?"The Hard Truth About Sunshine. It is so different from my other books and while I'm proud of all of my books, I am most proud of that one.
Tanja wrote: "Where did you find the inspiration to write The Hard Truth About Sunshine?"The Hard Truth About Sunshine stemmed from an interaction I had with a Marine in the Orlando airport. When I thanked him for his service, he rebuffed me, and I was completely taken aback. At first I was upset by it, but it got me thinking about his perspective and how he may have felt. You can read the full story and some of my perspective on it in the notes at the end of The Hard Truth. xoxo
Jacqueline wrote: "If you could co-write with any author, who would it be?"Kristen Ashley! Total pipe dream though.
RentasticReads wrote: "You have written such a wide range of romance books, which sub genre is your favorite to write or play around with? :)"There are things I love about each of them, but right now I am having such a blast writing my sweet southern romance for my other pen name, Juliette Poe. Having spent so much time getting wicked at The Wicked Horse the last couple years, the Sex and Sweet Tea series is a fun change of pace.
MiDouradoP wrote: "What was the most challenging book you wrote (for whatever reason)? And if you weren't an author, what would you want to be?"
Honestly, The Wicked Horse books have been some of my most challenging, because that series is all about pushing boundaries. And it's hard to put that much sex in a series and keep it fresh.
If I weren't an author, I'd want to run my own animal rescue.
Nicole wrote: "What are you working on now?"I just got the digital files back for Wicked Wish, which is the second book in The Wicked Horse Vegas series, and releases 8/11. Right now I'm writing Barking Up the Wrong Tree, which is the next release in the Sex and Sweet Tea Series by Juliette Poe (my alter ego).

I've always enjoyed reading, and I had some ideas rolling around in my head that I thought I put into a book. I kept talking about it and finally one day my husband dared me to do it. So I did!
Whitney wrote: "Which of your own books was your favorite to Write?"The Hard Truth About Sunshine. xoxo
Sophie wrote: "What's your favourite scene from your books and why? Can you describe it? 😊"Some of my favorite scenes are from The Hard Truth About Sunshine, because they are so real. A group of misfits together on a roadtrip, helping one another fulfill items on their bucket list. Egging a house, camping, seeing the Pacific Ocean, and more.
Veronika's ReaderFeeder wrote: "Who is your favorite character you created so far? :)"I have some heroines that I have absolute crushes on - Gray Brannon (Ryker) and Leary Michaels (Friction), and my favorite hero is Tenn Jennings (Shaken Not Stirred).
Angela wrote: "What inspired you to begin writing?"I had some ideas and thought I might like to give it a try. My husband tossed out a dare, and I'm not one to back down from a challenge!
Hi SawyerI've just asked this question on your author page, but I'll ask here also. (Cos I want a shot at the giveaway too) 😉 I'm a huge fan. Read and loved all your books and Juliette Poe's (who I love too by the way). Just wondering if you will ever come to the UK and a book signing (and bring Lisa too)? ❤️❤️

Angel wrote: "Who was the 1st author you fan girled over? Have you meet him or her?"I may or may not have cornered Kristen Ashley in a bar in Pittsburgh. Haha!!
Pamela wrote: "how do you get some of your ideals for the books?"They come from just about anywhere! It could be something I've seen on the news, a real life situation that spurs an idea, a character based off someone in my life. And sometimes I just come up with ideas out of the blue - you know, like cowboys that own a sex club. ;)

Hi Pam! I'd love to make my way over there at some point, but my publishing schedule and toddler make it so hard. It's definitely on my short list of places I'd like to visit again, so hopefully in the not too distant future. And yes, Lisa would likely come too. ;)
Cassie wrote: "What is your "must have" when you get in writing mode?"Just my computer! I am thankfully lucky to have the ability to block out whatever is happening around me, so as long as I've got my computer, I'm golden.
Irma wrote: "Which character of your is your favourite and why? Thank you."I am totally in love with Tenn Jennings (Shaken Not Stirred). That man pushes alllll my buttons.
I also really love Jillian in The Hard Truth About Sunshine, because she's an eternal optimist, as am I. <3
At what age did you know you wanted to become an author also what is your all time favorite book or series that you can read over and over again an still love.
I'd love to know..if you were to write the biography of a person who would you choose or given the chance to help someone write their autobiography..who would it be( anyone..both from past and present 😊)
I just want to say that I love your work and believe that I can read anything of yours and love it. Keep up the great work. My questions are: How long did it take you to write your first book? Were you afraid to get it out there? :)
Hi! Wondering what your favve movie is(if you can even choose..I myself have some real issues at that..ten or so in every genre is my thing 😝) Thanks for the giveaway! /Love from Sweden!!❤️❤️
Lelee wrote: "At what age did you know you wanted to become an author also what is your all time favorite book or series that you can read over and over again an still love."Oh gosh, I was in my forties by the time I published! I don't do a ton of re-reading (mostly due to time constraints), but I love To Kill a Mockingbird. So much so that my dogs are named Atticus and Scout. :)
Ankita wrote: "I'd love to know..if you were to write the biography of a person who would you choose or given the chance to help someone write their autobiography..who would it be( anyone..both from past and pres..."The Dalai Lama, for sure!
Brittany wrote: "Does music play a role in your writing process? Do you create playlists for each book you write?"I don't. I actually absorb very little around me when I'm writing, so music rarely influences my writing. I've got a handful of playlists for when I workout though. ;)

My first contemporary romance didn't take me too long, and it was a little nerve wracking, but I didn't really have much riding on it. It was something I chose to do for fun, so I wasn't expecting much from it.
