I definitely remember the plot had a dad who somehow could access this technology that allowed the person to basically see every illness the person could have and he read his daughter's DNA (from her hair perhaps) and discovered she would contract some debilitating disease/condition and I think the exciting bit was it was a race against time for him to find a cure?
