If she has a smidgen of pride, she might move somewhere else, keep the child, rear it on her own and never tell who the father is for fear the child will seek out Daddy Dearest. She manages to make a fortune on her own (we can dream!), while the baby daddy pines for her, realizes he made a mistake and only after years pass finds out he has a child with her. He confronts her, she says she's not interested in renewing their relationship. He threatens custody but she has plenty of money to get terrific attorneys and, after a fierce battle, retains custody of the kid.
Dad gets visitation rights (maybe) but he's reminded constantly of what a jerk and a fool he was to give up this woman and her child for someone else.
Well, that would be a great story. Any chance this was like that?
