Geoff (geoffgreer) Please keep all discussion and speculation to the events of Chapters 1-9.

No spoiler tags required. Though it would be highly appreciated if you Uncheck Add to my Update Feed to avoid accidentally spoiling things for your good read friends.

Please do not discuss events from later sections/books. Referring back to events from a previous section/book is fine.

Geoff (geoffgreer) This has been great so far. I just have so much fun when reading Sullivan's books. And he certainly started this book with a bang. War seems to be coming but how we get there will be interesting. I was a little shocked when Nyphron says he figures there might be a million Rhunes. I hadn’t realized it was that much considering Dahl Rhen seems like a small settlement. They still have to make up the deficit of having virtually no magic users (perhaps using technology) but sheer manpower seems to be on their side.

- How in the world Arion thought it was a good idea to let Suri release the giant as a magic lesson, I have no idea.

- I know we are leading up to an advancement in the martial technology & strategy of the Rhune. But, particularly for our Dahl Rhen, there's a whole new world of engineering and language that is about to be opening up.

- Its annoying when Mawyndule has some reasonable thoughts/opinions (admitting getting sick while watching the duel), while usually being a spoiled jerk. Also, even jerks are allowed to have a crush on a girl.

Well I forgot to check the cutoff, so I'm not sure where this section ends. I'm mostly enjoying it, but there have been a few info dumps that pulled me out of it and I still find Mawyndulane too cartoonish. The crush thing certainly helps though.

My favorites continue to be the Suri, the inventor and the Potter. I sadly am blanking on all their names right now.

The number of Rhunes was certainly a surprise. I wonder if we'll see anywhere close to that amount during the battles. Even 250k would be huge.

Geoff (geoffgreer) I also really like Roan, the inventor.
