I believe she was a middle aged woman who left her marriage to live on Nantucket or Martha's Vineyard.

Something like Escape?When did you read this? Do you remember why she left her marriage? Anything about the cover?
I read it several years ago and thought I still had it but cannot find it. I don't remember the cover but I believe she left the marriage because she'd never developed herself as an individual.
