Yeah, sometimes you find loads, and other times you don't find anything at all.

message 54: by Irene (new)

Irene (raenne) | 4856 comments True. Btw, isn't there a way to sort books after price in the amazon shop on kindle? I can't seem to find it

message 55: by Irene (new)

Irene (raenne) | 4856 comments Which one was that Heather?

message 56: by Tati (new)

Tati There is a drop down menu right below the basket information.

I think you have to click on 'kindle ebooks' on the menu on the left hand side of the page, and then there should be a little box at the top of the list on the right, which you should be able to change to 'price low -high'

message 60: by Irene (new)

Irene (raenne) | 4856 comments I can't seem to find that option :/ It's a Kindle Paperwhite

message 61: by Sarah Elizabeth (new)

Oh, I don't know if you can do it by price on the kindle. I think I've searched to see if there's a way but the browsing seems quite limited.

message 62: by Irene (new)

Irene (raenne) | 4856 comments Probably a good thing after all lol

So... This was supposed to be about how to decrease the number of unread books. Nose is about how to get cheap ebooks. Lol:-)

Sarah Elizabeth (bookworm_sarah) | 90931 comments Mod
ha ha! I'd need to be immortal to even stand a chance of reading all the books I have! ☺

message 64: by Irene (new)

Irene (raenne) | 4856 comments I think I can actually do it. Some day! If I buy 1 book for each 10 I read, it's not too bad, right? :D

message 65: by Sarah Elizabeth (new)

Sarah Elizabeth (bookworm_sarah) | 90931 comments Mod
I could never do that. If I want a book and it's cheap, I tend to buy it!

message 66: by Tytti (new)

Tytti (tyttih) I have like 2 or 3 unread books on my shelf because I only buy books when I'm not reading anything and then I read them right away. Also I use library really often and if there's a book I didn't like so much I don't buy it.
I buy mostly books that I've already read or sequels to books I know are awesome.

I like shopping way too much to do that ☺ Well done!

and free ones are almost impossible!

onceuponatimeareview | 2335 comments I have so many books to catch up on and next week I get a Kindle and then I'm going to this bargain store that sells books for cheap prices

Jenni (thefabjenni) | 339 comments Sarah wrote: "and free ones are almost impossible!"

I know, Sarah! Any good freebies you've found recently for Kindle?

message 72: by Sarah Elizabeth (new)

Sarah Elizabeth (bookworm_sarah) | 90931 comments Mod
I don't think I've read many free ones recently. my most favourite freebies are these though - Saving Mars (Saving Mars, #1) by Cidney Swanson Whispers in Autumn (The Last Year, #1) by Trisha Leigh Masquerade (Heven and Hell, #1) by Cambria Hebert

message 73: by Jenni (new)

Jenni (thefabjenni) | 339 comments Thanks! I've just downloaded Saving Mars, and I'll have a look at the others later :) I need books this weekend as I'm on my own inside a house because the weather will be awful according to the forecast!

message 74: by Tati (new)

Tati There are also some classics for free, I remember getting A Tale of Two Cities, for instance.

message 75: by Jenni (new)

Jenni (thefabjenni) | 339 comments Yeah, I've been going through a lot of classics in the 100 year rule...Currently, I'm reading Dracula for class.

message 76: by Connie (new)

Connie (sunstormsandthunderclouds) | 3978 comments I have a knack for coming across amazing deals for books when I have little money and even less space! It's such a dilemma. But I'm putting myself on the "unless it's a sequel, you can only buy a book for every 10 you read"

message 77: by Irene (new)

Irene (raenne) | 4856 comments Sarah - Ebooks don't count for me, as they don't take up any space:) ANd I've never found free physical copies of books :P

Connie - Same for me :) And preorders

message 78: by Sarah Elizabeth (new)

Sarah Elizabeth (bookworm_sarah) | 90931 comments Mod
I've had free physical copies of books. i got given several at a car boot sale because people couldn't get anyone to buy them, and my friend gave me about 30 books a couple of weeks ago as she was having a clear out!

message 79: by Tati (new)

Tati Have to tell you, one of my dreams is to go to BEA to get free physical ARCs LOL

My entire family and friends use me for book loans and recommendations. I hate it when they hurt my books though!

message 83: by Tati (new)

Tati I don't loan books, easy as that. I know they won't be treated well, so they don't leave the shelves.

message 84: by Irene (new)

Irene (raenne) | 4856 comments Wanna go to BEA as well! So badly!

Well, I get ARCs as well, but I just wan't to save up money and travel! :D

message 85: by Tati (new)

Tati Maybe someday...

message 86: by Irene (new)

Irene (raenne) | 4856 comments Probably not lol. Too expensive to go overseas. But a girl can dream :P

message 87: by Tati (new)

Tati I think that with a careful financial planning, it is doable (I'd have to go overseas as well).

message 88: by Irene (new)

Irene (raenne) | 4856 comments Well, yes, when eventually I go over there, I might as well do it when BEA is happening :P

message 89: by Connie (new)

Connie (sunstormsandthunderclouds) | 3978 comments I'd never be able to go to BEA

It's like a hell of a lot of money to get there :P

And I don't earn enough to save :P

message 90: by Irene (new)

Irene (raenne) | 4856 comments Some day you will, Connie. At least I hope I will! ;)

message 91: by Sarah Elizabeth (new)

Sarah Elizabeth (bookworm_sarah) | 90931 comments Mod
I can't imagine my lot would be impressed if i told them we had to go on holiday specifically so i could go to BEA. There'd also be the issue of the weight of all those books as excess baggage on the plane - probably cheaper to just buy them!

message 92: by Irene (new)

Irene (raenne) | 4856 comments Well, my partner understands my passion, so he'd do it for me, I think. The weight though.... Hmm.

It is my dream to go to BEA! I heard it's a lot of money to go there as well! But it looks like it's worth it! :)

Meeting the author's would be cool!

message 95: by Tati (new)

Tati Well, the good thing with flights to and from Brazil is that we're allowed to check-in two pieces of luggage, each weighing up to 32 kg

message 96: by Irene (new)

Irene (raenne) | 4856 comments That's a lot of luggage:-)

message 97: by Tati (new)

Tati Yes, it is! I do feel sorry for the luggage handlers, though.

message 98: by Irene (new)

Irene (raenne) | 4856 comments Yeah oO that's be like, a ton of luggage a day. Wow

message 99: by Irene (new)

Irene (raenne) | 4856 comments So... I've managed to get it down to a 199! I've sorted my books once again and have a lot to sell and donate :)
