RISA DIDN'T ASK to come here. She didn't pay to come here, either. Nope. She's here because her father works maintenance at a company where one of Rockwell's board members is vice president, and he “overheard Teruo talking about his daughter's accomplishments” and “knew she would be the perfect fit for Rockwell” and “have you ever considered studying abroad, Risa?” It's not as if Risa's tuition is the price it takes to keep a secret. No; as far as anyone knows, she's here because of her intelligence, her hard work, her intellectual potential.
And truly, she is grateful for this opportunity. It's a good one, to learn more, become more worldly. To meet people of higher society than the country dwellers in Iiyama. Because her parents want a better life for her. Because she wants more from life than making soba. Rockwell is undeniably nicer than her hokey old high school where the doors were near falling off their hinges.
But at the same time — who in their right mind would think Risa is a good fit for Rockwell? She's different, for sure. And she's not ashamed or embarrassed. She's just... bewildered. By her roommate's Louis Vuitton collection, by the Maseratis parked next to Aston Martins in the parking lot, by the extravagant lifestyles which these people just grew up with. Honestly, these people... are they even human? Is this a hidden camera scenario? Risa doesn't even know.

Harvey is a transfer student going into his senior year, he is coming from a little non-important town from South Dakota. His sports are wrestling, baseball, and soccer. Being raised on Sunday night TV football games and sports every other day of the week they were available, it is no wonder that Harvey grew up playing them constantly. Not to mention the pressure from his father to relive his own glory days, playing college football at university. Half of the time, Harvey wonders if he got so good from natural talent, or because he has been working hard and drilling for it since he was a toddler. Or at least that's how it feels. His parents have always pushed an athletic future on him -- convinced that was where the real money is, and the best way to get there is a diploma that says Rockwell.
His Dad is the one pushing the athletics... his mom seemed genuinely happy for the academics, since it's definite step up from his public school. Yeah, public school. That's where he's transferring from; because unlike every other kid here, his family wasn't born into money. His Dad makes a decent living as an engineer, and his mom works in the maternity ward department of their local hospital... but their yearly combined income probably wouldn't cover the cost of one semester at Rockwell. But hey, this year they're handing out scholarships, and his father went to college with a friend whose brother went to Rockwell, and he got a recommendation for him and his sibling. And because his father is convinced that being at a school with a emphasis like Fulsom will get him into the pros, he had to pack his bags, leave all of his friends (and gf), all before what was supposed to be his best year yet.
He's more than a little bitter about having to start over his senior year, but he feels even worse for his sibling that got dragged along for the ride. He tries to have a good attitude about it, but it's hard. Especially when he's around a bunch of rich Princesses 24/7. Like he thought his family was well off until he got here... on his first day, he felt everyone staring at his shoes like he was living in poverty, even though his family makes a comfortable six figures a year. Talk about culture shock.MEM: The only picture his last school sent on his transcript was his freshmen-year yearbook photo, which is all Rockwell has used for him for his attendance sheets, photo ID, and every other media representation. He doubts anyone else has noticed, but he most certainly did. He gets super red every time it pops up somewhere, but he's probably the only one who even cares. (view spoiler) His mom made him where the suit ok...
CC: Proving himself to his teammates and getting into some kind of college on a sports scholarship. Stressing over keeping his scholarship, he's very intelligent, but he knows Rockwell is an entirely different caliber than what he is used to.

─── ❝ AIDEN • NOZAKI ❞ / / xvii & homme & bisexual & saito & senior ( ♛ )TO BE entirely honest, Aiden doesn't give a shit about Rockwell. Sure, it's a nice school and yeah, the oppurtunity is once in a lifetime ─ but it feels like a lot of hype for a school full of snobs. And making friends? Well, that's a feat that seems nearly impossible with this crowd. Do these kids even have time or are they too busy having mental breakdowns? Aiden can't always tell, quite frankly. But at least his parents are happy and will shut up about his 'wasted potential' for once. So that's nice.
At this point, Aiden has given up on pleasantries. He's sarcastic, he's crass, and he probably comes off as an asshole. But he's just living his life and trying real damn hard not to get caught up in the whirlwind of drama that is Rockwell. So far, so good ─ even he does catch a few glares from the kids he does better than despite doing less overall. Yeah, he would study but that would mess up his whole stress-free-senior-year thing. Plus, it's not like he's doing bad without the added hassle.━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
M.E.M : : Freshman year, Aiden argued for weeks with his parents regarding the upcoming final in his physics class and told them that he didn't need to study ─ he'd ace it with no problem. Needless to say, he failed the final (bombed it) and had to take an online remedial course over the summer.━━━━ ⋄ ━━━━
CURRENT CONCERN : : Trying to stay out of Rockwell drama and somehow tell his parents that he doesn't want to go to college. He doesn't really see either one working out for him.

❝ Don't spend so much time on music," Christian's parents used to tell him. That it was good he was so skilled with his hands, because that would get him into medical school someday; that it was important to perform in recitals and win competitions, because it showed real skill; that music alone would never get him anywhere in life no matter how much he loved it, not really.
And Chris does love it — oh, does he love it. It's not as though he's under some delusion that he's going to hit it big and be some superstar in the music industry, but the talent he has — and that's what it is, talent, something so innate and intuitive that he cannot even put it into words — is something more than what most people have. He knows at least that much.
His parents were thrilled when he got the opportunity to attend Rockwell — of course they were; it was a place where he'd be able to build his resume and network connections he wouldn't otherwise have been able to make. Chris? He's thrilled, too, but not for the same reason. No, he's happy to be here because finally, finally he can do what he loves without anyone telling him it's not important enough to spend time on.

name:Hazel Vivian Macgyverage:Sixteengrade:Juniordepartment:Saito Department of Academicsappearance:

face claim: Pyper America Smith
description:The best way to describe Hazel in one word is unorthodox, the one you can never quite pindown, an oxymoron at best and beautiful chaos at worst. Of course, she hasn't always been as accepting of who she is: as a kid, she chased Harvey around, attempting to find her own identity in her sporty older brother. She's moved through that stage, thank God, into the girl she is now - this young, loud, wild thing who's been labelled a trouble child on more than one occasion. So who knows if it was a step up or actually a step down from what she was. Hazel doesn't go out of her way to be eccentric, despite how it normally comes across, and has in some situations preferred to stay on the sidelines as oppose to being dead in the center. She's long since embraced her sexuality, which many a drunken hookups can attest to, though the idea of someone actually being genuinely interested in her is probably one of the only fears she has. As part of that self-acceptance that happened sometime a few years ago, Hazel has killed off that part of her that used to care what others think. Pretty much where her casual, devil-may-care laziness comes from? I mean hey, she never claimed to be on top of her shit, despite having a drill sergeant for a father and somehow managing to weasel a scholarship from Rockwell along with her brother. Which definitely had to do with her penchant towards biology - yet another one of the many glaringly obvious distinctions between her and Harvey. Her brother is no duns, but his specialty has always been athletics. Hazel, on the other hand? Science is where she shines.likes:✓ Biology. Yeah, Haze has always been intrigued by science, things that can be backed up by facts.dislikes:In other words, the only religion she's acquainted with is what she's found in the bedroom? In fact, most of the time you can find her in a lab with those god-awful goggles on her face. And you know she practically has permanent indents on her nose from the eye protection, which used to be more than slightly irritating but it's become as much a part of her now as her pale skin and vibrant eyes.
✓ Dancing. Nothing dignified or classy like ballet, oh no. Your girl specializes in the trashy gyration of hips that most drunk girls resort to. Aka nothing special at all about it. She's also been known to dance alone in her bedroom, something far less sultry. Unless you consider boy shorts and a tank top sultry, in which case, just label her a seductress already.
✗ 'Slut.' As in, the use of the word. She finds it absolutely repulsive, that we're still so archaic to think women owning their sexuality is somehow a bad thing. Maybe it's because she's personally had the word hurled at her one too many times, maybe it's because she herself happens to like sex - whatever it is, the double standards can go to hell. She's learned to harden herself to it a bit, but the fact that she -or any woman- has to is absolutely ridiculous and if you get her drunk enough, or catch her in a bad mood? Well. She certainly isn't afraid to cut a bitch if she has to.current concern:
✗ Sports. Harvey is the athletic one and it absolutely, positively shows in the way she has zero interest in keeping active. She's pretty apathetic about the whole concept of health in general because screw vegetables when you can gorge on Doritos and nutella crepes. Sure, she's probably going to die of heart disease by the time she's fifty, but at least she'll enough life getting to that point? Yolo and all that fun stuff, right?Hazel doesn't concern herself with much, if anything -- except her brother. Of course, she'll never tell him or anyone that, but she worries about him. A lot. She may be the little sister but she still considers it her job to look out for him, and God knows he's carrying a big enough chip on his shoulder with all the rich kiddies surrounding them these days. She just hopes it doesn't blow up anyone's face because resentment can be a ticking time bomb and if it somehow does, she plans to be by his side, because Harvey and Hazel have always been an unspoken team.most embarrassing moment:When it comes to biology, Hazel has an affinity for almost everything that comes with the subject. The thing she does not do so well with though is dissections - particularly, cat dissections? Yeah, that was a thing they had to do. And the few classes leading up to it, she wasn't even really concerned about it, not until her teacher was actually setting the bag down on her desk with the dead cat. Surprisingly, she managed to make it through the whole class, but with the way her schedule fell, her lunch was right after and - well. The smell definitely lingered and she found herself hunched over a trash can in front of her entire class hurling what little she had previously managed to choke down.

[history] Clara is not a true Fontaine. Her 'father' has always made that abundantly clear. See, Clara is the bastard child that her daddy got saddled with when he knocked up the maid. Or rather didn't get saddled with. Clara's mother was fired for having relations with her employer- a married man and a father already, and Clara has been....well pushed off. Sure, her father paid money that apparently Clara is going to have access to for college when she turns 18. But while his precious daughter got to attend all four years at Rockwell, Clara has only just gotten in. On scholarship for her art. See.....Clara has always had some problems with herself. Mostly she deals with those problems by exercising....and counting calories...and not eating unnecessary food- but many have tried to label her as anorexic. She doesn't believe it though, refuses to acknowledge it really, and instead prefers to draw out her pain. Digital Art that she initially began with posting on her tumblr, quickly gaining recognition.....enough so that she was able to make her way into Rockwell. Where her sister goes. It's her first chance to meet her sister, and it's been making her nervous...enough so that she's lost 4 pounds since coming here. Which is shameful, when one of the stipulations about attending this school was making sure that she kept up her weight.

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬Ivo's life began when he was eight years old. He was dumpster diving with his older brother hoping to find glass bottles that they could trade in and get enough money for something to eat when he found a violin. It was a cheap thing, not very sturdy, and one of the strings had snapped, but Ivo couldn't leave the damn thing behind. His brother thought he was crazy for keeping an actual piece of trash, but Ivo had seen street performers with violins and songs so beautiful that Ivo could cry every time he listened. He wanted to make sounds just like that.
It was hard to learn how to play an instrument when Ivo didn't even have a home or a steady source of meals, but somehow Ivo managed to fix up the old Violin and start playing. At first he was horrible, so horrible his brother would shout at him to shut up. Learning to play was frustrating too. He had no teacher to help him understand techniques, no books with sheets of music, and there were times Ivo wanted to smash his violin to pieces. Ivo took two years to learn what most students learn in just two months and he did it all without help and by learning songs by ear. Finally, when Ivo was ten, he managed to play a simple twinkle twinkle, and Ivo's brother cried because it was the most beautiful thing he ever heard.
Over the next few years, Ivo's skills in the violin increased at an alarming rate and he eventually earned enough money from street performances to buy a cello, and then a Viola, then a six string just because it looked fun, and Ivo learned to play them all and he learned to play them well. When Ivo was sixteen, he found himself in an audition for a scholarship to Rockwell, one of the most prestigious academies for high schoolers anywhere, and despite having never read music in his life, Ivo and his ratty old violin from the dumpster managed to be awarded a full ride scholarship. It was exhilirating to know that his hard work paid off that much.(view spoiler)

name:Calvin "Cal" Constantine Archerage:Eighteen and pretty much on his own because of it. His grandparents have tried to do what they could raising him but working with limited funds has meant they had to push Cal out of the nest as soon as possible. The boy has always been relatively independent, used to fending for himself, but it's a different ballpark entirely no longer having that safety net quite so closely guarding your fall.grade:Seniordepartment:Gabriel Department of the Arts - vocals in particular. He also writes his own songs but good luck ever getting him to share that with you.appearance:

face claim: Cole Sprouse
description:There's a lot about Cal that most don't know. As a loner, it's sort of assumed that he comes from a bad home but no one has ever gotten close enough to know the whole tragic backstory. And it's hardly that tragic either - sure, his young single mom dropped him off to be raised by her parents when he was a baby, but there was nothing wrong with his grandparents. They were kind people, a little stuck in their old ways of thinking and not from a lot of money, but that never stopped them from giving him a good life. Sure, maybe sometimes the idea of knowing his real parents was somewhat enticing, but for the most part, Cal enjoyed living with his grandparents. There was a lot of love there. And that love never went away, not even when Mama Archer's symptoms started appearing. And while Calvin's grandfather was too old fashioned to believe in taking her to get diagnosed, he's pretty sure what she has is schizoaffective disorder. The talks of whispers -hallucinations- and the intense periods of near manic highs after long swings of depression were pretty telling signs and as it got worse as years went on, a childhood once carved out by laughter quickly became one of locking himself into his room to hide the tears.likes:
But little boys grow up, and his grandfather has done everything in his power to keep his grandmother's condition in check. The tension between both Archer men has grown, of course, especially as Cal got older and began insisting Mama see a doctor. Deaf ears don't hear jack shit though and when Cal got accepted on scholarship into Rockwell Academy, it seemed like as good of an opportunity as he would ever get: both for his future and to get out of an increasingly toxic household situation. And maybe he should have tried to stay and push harder for his grandmother, but doctors have never been apart of their lives and physiatrists? His grandparents hardly believe in the practice. Despite everything, Calvin has managed to somehow still develop into an adolescent. He's made a name for himself as the loner who's too smart to find people very entertaining for long amounts of exposure and his attention span is about as stable as his grandmother is. He's the guy who gets bored and is quick to move on to the next thing: the next conquest, the next problem, the next find. His insane attention to detail has garnered him a reputation as being a giving and attentive screw, which most of the guys he's slept with would agree is accurate.⎈ Smoking. Should he like it? Most definitely not, especially considering it's slowly killing him. But Cal has never been big into doing what he should do and if he's going to die, might as well be him doing something that makes him feel good. Even if he wanted to stop, he couldn't, because addiction is a nasty thing. So nothing like a painful death after years of puffing toxins into his lungs, right?dislikes:For such a smart boy, he sure can be hella stupid - just ask his ex.
⎈ Details. Cal has a thing about details - he's incredibly good at picking things up. You know, the small side notes most people would find too insignificant to bother with. He likes noticing what other people choose to gloss over, it's incredibly addicting if you ask him. So if you want this boy to overlook something, I mean . . . good luck. The best means of distraction is sex and that's a whole other game entirely, where details matter even more.⚓ Chatty folk. If you're looking for a conversationalist, Calvin is definitely not and never will be your guy. He's the kind of person who likes to make his words count, so those who try to drag more out of him than he's willing to give? He finds it annoying. Like, endlessly annoying. If he's answering all your conversation starters with a single word, that's probably a sign he'd prefer that you take your attempt at a conversation elsewhere. And it's not like Cal doesn't talk - he just prefers that you don't try to force it out of him.current concern:
⚓ Prying. Anyone who ever tries to pry the personal details out of his life is instantly in for a world of snarky sarcasm that will immediately have them backing off. He doesn't appreciate too many questions or anyone looking to find the next tidbit of gossip. Honestly, you can go fuck yourself if that's what you're coming to Cal for. He may be a small puppy, but he has quite the bite.Staying below the radar of just about anyone with any sort of sway. Cal doesn't do well when a lot of attention is on him - he prefers to stay in the background of things. After all, he's the guy who likely could never name someone as a friend even as others from various social circles are likely to rope in under their category. He prefers it that way honestly, and wants to keep things from changing too much if he can control it.most embarrassing moment:So Cal can sing, right? He has a decent voice and it's all well and good. Well, when he was in middle school, he had this grand idea that he would try out for the talent show and switch things up a little, right? Which sounds fine - only he attempted to rap. Yes, this tiny little white boy attempted to rap and genuinely thought he could have a future career in this. Well. Of course he made try-outs because no one ever really got rejected, but lets just say it would have been a blessing in disguise if he had been told no. The recording of it hunts him to this very day.

Brie has applied as an Art student, her specialty is in clay works. She loves throwing clay, and watching with awe as it becomes something, the entire process is therapeutic for her, and has literally saved her life a few times, as she has Major Depression, and General Anxiety. Brie puts her all into her academics, and basically ignores the world as her entire future depends on herself, her family cannot help her with school.
」The only current concern for this student is that she has lived in a lot of homeless shelters during her life, and it may be hard for her to adapt to such an extravagant life so quickly.
Brie is tall, for a girl, she stands at 5'10, and has long, curly hair. Her eyes crinkle at the corners when she laughs, or smiles. She's slightly self-conscious of her laugh, someone once said she sounds like a hyena, so now she is cautious as to who she laughs in front of. Brie enjoys wearing things that she won't mind getting dirty, because she's usually arm deep in some sort of clay. She is the type of girl that enjoys being comfortable. Brie has never been about brands or labels, there will never be a Michael Kors bag on this girls arm, and she can't afford the latest pair of trainers on her feet.
」Most embarrassing day of school was when she started her period in gym class, and everyone saw the bright, red stain on her gray joggers, they knew before she did. The cries of the baby could be heard throughout the walk-in clinic. There had been no choice, the mother had walked in and literally went into labor right inside the door. The baby girl wailed like her heart depended on it, the doctors and nurses quickly tended to mother and child, doing their best to keep things as sterile for both. The health of the duo was the only thing that mattered at the time. What the doctors didn't expect, was for the mother to run out on the baby, and leave the baby in their care. Brie was then a ward of the state, and thrust into foster care, where her life would change before she could take her first steps.
Foster care wasn't all bad, Brie was moved to homes that sometimes actually took very good care of her. Those never worked out though, they either became over-filled, or stopped fostering altogether. It wasn't until she was eleven that she found herself in a home, to possibly stay. It was a big family, with six children already living there, most biological, and the parents worked at minimum wage jobs, so it wasn't like they had a lot of money to support the children. They had a lot of heart though, and loved each child tenderly, which was something that Brie needed, whether she knew it or not. Her DFCS worker was overjoyed to put her in the small home, that was overcrowded, but also filled with love.
The Holmes family ended up adopting Brie, and letting her become one of them. She had mixed feelings over the whole thing, but her DFCS worker said it was probably the best she would ever see, so she agreed to it. At first she rebelled, a lot, and tested the boundaries of her new parents and siblings. They were patient with her, and always showed her where the line was, but in a gentle, compassionate way. It was nothing like she'd known before, and it was humbling, it helped to shape her into a beautiful, loving, endearing young lady, later on. Her first Art teacher, when she was 13, introduced her to clay, and what it meant to sling it, to make something with your hands. She was in love from her first session, and never looked back. Brie never worried over making friends, or being one of the popular kids. She did her best with her grades, and threw herself into her art, making piece after piece, and even having a few of her pieces shown in the community art gallery a time or two. She's now applied to go to an upper class school, where her art could really mean something, and it would look great on a college application.Relationships
