H A NM I N - K Y U N G

Here's the problem: Han Min-kyung can't say no. She's a born people-pleaser, has a foolishly loyal nature that she can't shake no matter how hard she tries. Some call it stupidity, some call it optimism; but Min-kyung has an innate trust in the people around her. And for the most part, that's okay, because she's not the type to usually attract "bad" people—they seem to find her too soft for their taste.

Because Min-kyung is soft at heart—she cries when she sees ASPCA commercials, she apologizes for arguments in which she's not even at fault, she's never stayed angry for longer than a day... She just wants to be around people, and to enjoy people, and for people to enjoy her, too. Min-kyung puts her whole heart into things, because she doesn't know how to give anything less. She wants people to love her, to be proud of her. She doesn't want to put herself first. She's afraid of being selfish, because she doesn't want to be selfish, because being selfish is a negative trait and if she's selfish, people won't want to be around her. Is she a pushover? Probably. (Definitely.) And sure, she lets people walk all over her and take advantage of her kindness and generosity, but really, no one's actually taking advantage of it, because she wanted to give that favor, to lend them that object, to give them her time and energy and care. And she does manage to convince herself of this—not that it takes much, because if it's what you want, that's really all it takes for Min-kyung to tell herself that that's what she wants, too.

Because it's better to smile and do things for people and be a good person than to make waves, right? Min-kyung doesn't want to get involved with any conflict. Does it end up hurting her? Sometimes. But she'd rather stay passive than actually stand up for herself. Besides, she's more worried about studying for that physics exam.

There are many things that can be said about Yoon Ji-ae. It's not a secret to anyone that the Yoon siblings have a flair for the extravagant, and Ji-ae is no exception to the rule. From birth, she's been given everything that anyone could possibly want, and that's not including the things she does ask for.

Life is easy: Ji-ae is beautiful and rich. When you're the second-eldest of the Samsung CEO's children — and really, does that even count when Ji-hyuk is mere minutes older? Ji-ae might as well be the first child — you are never in want or need. Especially not when she's the only girl, and thus is constantly doted on by her oh-so-dedicated (read: willing to buy any gift) parents. And besides, she doesn't have to work hard, because she's smart enough without trying; and even if she wasn't, does it even matter when she's going to end up a trophy wife anyway? Now, don't get her wrong — that's not a bad thing. It's a good thing, a great thing, because as far as Ji-ae's concerned, living a life where she doesn't have to work and can just shop her heart out and host social events is a dream come true.

JASON PARK : seventeen & senior & saito
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
(view spoiler)

Just because he doesn't study and he's at the bottom of his class doesn't mean Jason isn't smart. He is, and he has a near-photographic memory to back his brains up. The only problem? The stuff he forgets tends to be the important stuff.

People say the pressure got to him, and they're not entirely wrong. Pressure is what put him off studying — why try if people are still going to tell you you're not good enough? Besides, does he even need to study when his parents have more than enough money to send him to a good university? Well, maybe, but he's past caring at this point.

And the suicides? If he hadn't figured it all out by now, he might have been one of them.

Born into a family of rich almost-geniuses, Jason Park was always expected to be the best. And he delivered — until his genius parents decided that it was in his best interests to attend Rockwell, at which point he ceased to be the top of the top. His report comments started being along the lines of "Jason is a very intelligent boy and could do extremely well if he took examinations seriously."

But his parents, being preoccupied with his younger brother, ignored the comments. Which is good for Jason, but not for his grades.

JAVIER SANCHEZ MENDOZA  &  eighteen & senior & gabriel

Jav is the kind of person who makes entire movie/play sets or music videos for projects. The kind of person who makes a to-scale model of a house with functioning systems just because he can. The one that uses at least four different mediums for one artwork and writes a five-page reflective essay on said artwork.

That being said, he spends an awful lot of time redoing things that didn't work out like he wanted them to, things that he realised weren't actually such a great concept at all, and finding more tubes of white oil paint. Thanks, anxiety.

current concern : white paints. all of the goddamn white paints.

most embarrassing memory : when he got up on stage to perform in freshman year and forgot to tune his e string down to d for the first song. if you didn't notice, you were deaf.

likes : art & multimedia & unsplash
dislikes : stress & family & outdated concepts

Alejandro Sanchez and Naia Mendoza were the perfect couple. Successful, happy, and living comfortably with their two sons in New York, where the boys went to school. At least, that's how it appeared to outsiders. To his family, Jav was the disappointment, the unwanted second child who never lived up to expectations.

And naturally, they jumped at the chance to send him off to a fancy boarding school to practice his unconventional art out of sight and, hopefully, out of memory — after all, you don't want cousins asking inconvenient questions.

name: Kaylie Illisory
age: 17
grade: Senior
department: Department of Arts
appearance: “description”/
Hair Color- A dark auburn, with a few natural blond and brunette highlights. Her parents don’t really know where the auburn gene came from, since their entire family is brunette or blond.
Eye Color- One eye is green, and the other is blue. Again, no one is quite sure why, but it just so happened that her genes worked out that way. But she’s had a multitude of medical anomalies, this being one of the more normal ones.
Height-- Five seven
Body Type-- She’s not that tall, but of an average height, and she’s extremely thin. Because of her medical issues, and her restricted diet, plus her personality and the way she tends to get sucked into her work, she often forgets about eating, and thus remains extremely thin. She is not anorexic, never has been, never will be, but she can sometimes look like it, especially after having forgotten a couple meals. There was one time where she was up in her room working for an entire weekend while her parents were away, and she neither slept nor ate for 50 hours. Her parents came back, and were horrified when they found her still in her room, working. The end result of her work (view spoiler)at least told them that she hadn’t been purposefully engaging in self-harm or starvation, but they kept a closer eye on her after that incident.
Distinctive Markings- A bird shaped birthmark on her lower back
Faceclaim: ---
“description”/
description:
History: Kaylie was born prematurely after her mother was in an accident during her 7th month of pregnancy. Kaylie spent her first two months of life in the NICU, and the next two years in and out of the hospital, and she nearly died multiple times before her fifth birthday from organ complications. Needless to say, she was a very sick child. She didn’t like movies or books, since they messed with her eyes, but she loved to color and draw. So, she spent a good amount of her childhood and time growing up in bed or in a chair drawing and sketching. She was a high-maintenance child due to her health problems, and while her parents were always extremely busy with their work, they were able to take care of her and make sure she never got too sick, because there was a lot of that.

Eventually, Kaylie outgrew the sick period in her life and she could go to school like the other kids. But that’s when the other problems started. She could read, but she hated reading and could never do it properly. Turns out she is severely dyslexic, and traditional school became harder and harder. She wanted to do well because she knew she could, but she could never read the books in time, or finish tests or do the math problems correctly. Even with the extra tutors and assistance that her parents could afford to pay for, she barely passed grade to grade.

Except in anything art or creative related. She was good with music, she was surprisingly good in shop and gym classes, but her favorite was art. Whenever she had extra time, she could be found outside staring at something and sketching. Or inside painting off of one of her sketches. She used all of her allowance money from her parents to buy art supplies, and eventually, her parents relented and let her set up her own mini art studio in their attic of their house.

Oh, yeah. Her parents are real estate moguls, co-owning a business with her mother as the legal attorney and her dad as the estate managers. So they have money. A lot of money. While she has plans to go and study art professionally after school, she has to graduate first. So for that reason, she actually has to go to a high school, and Rockwell fit the bill.

“description”/

Personality: In order to talk to Kaylie, you actually have to get her attention. If you can do that, you can do anything. While she is an extraordinarily kind and genuine person to talk to, she is introverted by nature and prefers to be in her own mind. She has a tendency to stare off into space when she gets an idea or is mulling an idea over, and it can be hard to pull her out of that space.

She can either be found outside, walking around with a sketch book in hand, looking for her next idea or inside, sitting in front of a canvas for hours on end, working painstakingly to get her next painting exactly right.

When she does talk to people, she is extremely emotionally intelligent and in tune with how people are feeling. Whether or not she cares enough at that time to interact in a way that is best suited to that person is not the point-she knows if you are nervous, anxious, excited, angry or jealous. And she knows what to say to help or exacerbate your emotions. What? Humans are the perfect canvases, and a couple words can initiate a kaleidoscope of actions to create the perfect explosion of color and tone and emo… just her? Okay.

Kaylie was never one for really close friends, but the few close friends she did have in her life know her as fiercely loyal, almost to a fault, and she is the one who would make your day better. She’s a great listener (maybe it's because she’s genuinely interested and wants to help you…or maybe its because she’s thinking about the canvas she’s currently working on and you happen to be her focal point of staring… you’ll never know the difference). She makes oddball observations about the world, but the way she says them usually ends up being really funny. She appreciates humor, and likes to make people smile. People look better when they smile. Maybe that's one of the reasons people tend to tell her their life story. The other reason being that she will sit and let them. She kind of collects stories, and stores them in her mind for when she needs them.

Oh, but about that…People tell her their life story or the drama that just went down between them and your boyfriend, but…she may or may not have heard it all, so if someone asks, she’ll tell them what she remembers. She’s started more than a few rumors during her time at Rockwell because she told an incomplete story because she forgot or didn't hear part of the original story.

“description”/

current concern: Getting into a good art school for post-grad. Most of them want actual grades in addition to a portfolio, and hers… let’s just say she’s not doing so hot.

most embarrassing moment: Probably when she got up to give a presentation in English class, and found out that she had prepared the wrong book, and when the teacher asked her to just talk about what she had read, she couldn’t, because she was a week behind in the reading because it takes her so darn long to read anything. It didn’t help that she’d pulled an all-nighter the night before to finish a painting, it was close to finals, and she broke down crying in front of the class.

ANGEL MUNOZ SANTIAGO     &     seventeen & junior & gabriel

Angel (it's pronounced an-ghjel) is one of those people that are only at this school because of some very fortunate (or unfortunate) coincidence. He doesn't look or act like he belongs here, and he spends twice as much time as everyone else working on projects and homework just to make sure that it's up to the same standards.

current concern : living up to his grandma's expectations. old colombian ladies are scary.

most embarrassing memory : when he cursed out loud in front of a teacher because he realised he'd left his books behind and was going to be late for class.

likes : sleep & photography & star wars
dislikes : snobbery & stress & pressure

When Luciana Rosales gives you something, it is utterly impossible to refuse. And so, when Angel's grandmother paid the school fees for him to attend Rockwell, he didn't really have any choice but to accept it.

He wishes she hadn't — the workload is extensive to say the least, and the people are richer than his great-uncle's first wife. And then there's the ever-present torture of knowing that someone completely out of your awkward, nerdy self's league is the person that you have the massivest crush on.

JASPER CUSTER DANIEL
                   ★Eighteen                   ★Senior                   ★Gabriel

[history] How the hell did a farmboy end up in a school like Rockwell? It's a simple story really, Harrison Daniel was the kind of guy who spent his whole life working. Married a neurologist. The kind of guy who really had things going for him and his shit figured out. Until he hit 45, had a mid-life crisis, met Jacob, left his wife, and had a surrogate child named Jasper. Oh, and bought a ranch. To raise horses on in the middle of nowheresville arizona. Which is where Jasper grew up. As a kid his best friends were the four horses his dad had on the ranch, and that Jacob used for therapy with his patients. Since the nearest town was two hours away, Jasper was homeschooled, until his freshman year when he came to Rockwell that is. His dad still has money after all, and in the middle of nowhere with nothing to do? it's not that hard to pick up a guitar and start playing.

[current concern] what the hell is he going to do after rockwell? sure, his dads want him to go to college, but he's not so sure the college thing is for him.
[mem] when you spend your entire childhood with nothing but horses and your dads for company, with the occasional visit from your extended family, you don't really hone in a whole lot on your social skills. sure, the internet kept him from turning into a psycho, but Jasper had zero experience with girls before coming to Rockwell. he mistakenly believed that life worked like a country song. boy meets girl, boy tells girl about feelings and happy ever after. that isn't how it works, apparently girls like being woo'ed or chased or working for a guy? he doesn't know. all he knows is that in the middle of a project in english he told a girl he liked her and asked her to be his girlfriend. she laughed and hes never felt his skin burn the way it did.

SUMMER KAYDENCE KING
                   ★Seventeen                   ★Senior                   ★Fulsom

[history] Summer is by no means a sweet girl. She's angry, bitter, and has a lot of resentment towards the world that makes a lot of tension in those tight shoulders of hers. Everyone at Rockwell has their shit right, their emphasis on what it is they do best, especially in Fulsom, everyone has their sport. Summer has her sports; volleyball and swim. Except....she has a lot of issues with her temper, which is where the recreational kickboxing comes in. But that's all it is, recreational. Summer has more issues than Vogue, and one of those issues is trust. She doesn't trust anyone....and yet she hates being alone. Funny how that all works out huh? But don't worry, she knows her future: Tokyo Olympics, bring home the Gold, and get a dog. That's all a girl needs for happily ever after, right?

[current concern] fuck life and all its bullshit because the fact that her lucky swim cap is starting to rip is a sign the universe hates her and she should just die already, not at all just what happens after you use the same lucky cap for like four years.
[mem] so lets flashback to sophomore year, where Summer here didn't realize that you can only really wear thongs with those cotton leggings. then we can add in the presentation in history where she dropped her notes and when she bent over to pick them up her leggings went basically see-through. cheetah print too. talk about classy.

ARCHER GABRIEL MADDOX
                   ★Seventeen                   ★Senior                   ★Saito

[history] You look at Archer and you see the tattoos and the name like 'Archer' and you think 'wow edgy af totally not cliche, must be an artist'. Wrong. Archer can barely draw a stick person, he's colorblind, and is tone deaf. But he does have some talent, he's somewhat of a mathematical genius. It's been that way ever since he was a kid and his parents taught him multiplication before they bothered with farm animals and the noises they made. No, he doesn't know what brand his shirt is or if high tops are still cool or not, but he does know how to solve ridiculously complicated math problems. Pretty much any one. And he doesn't even need a calculator. Not that this little talent of his makes him a super stud or anything of the sort, especially not with how clumsy he is. He's been six feet for a year now and still he's always tripping over his own two feet, as though he'll never quite be able to figure out how to walk down a hallway without crashing into at least four people.

[current concern] how many times can he drop his phone before it becomes completely useless
[mem] freshman year archer was in class, and the girl next to him needed a tampon. her friend across the room threw it to her. the tampon hit archer's shoulder and he screamed like a sissy girl with arachnophobia who's seen a spider. nothing more needs to be said there.

At the only age eighteen, Henry Cho has racked up quite the social media following — is it for his photography? his typography videos? The answer is, of course, his beautiful face in the artsy photos that he makes his friends take of him. Haha. Just kidding, mostly. Look — he's here for school like everyone else is. But you don't get a career by just sitting around, and Henry's always been the type to go for what he wants. It's networking, building a portfolio, making a presence. Come August he'll be at art school. #only18andreadytodie #cantyouforgetthetimeifelldownthestairs #howtomakegraduationcaplooksexy? #gabriellyfe

  STUDENT PROFILE.
this is the student record of oh eunji of saito (department of academics), also known as sunny. further statistics:
  age: 17 years
  gender: female
  grade: junior
  specialty: classic literature
sunny goes by sunny because oh eun-ji makes people ask if her name is really omg instead. she tries to be someone who thinks first and acts later, but let's be real, jay is pretty much 85% of her impulse control. for someone in saito, she knows how to have a good time, plus she's pretty friendly with everyone. now if only people would stop saying she's dating jay kwon...

  FURTHER INFO.
this student likes:
  romantic poetry (era not genre)
  karaoke
  ruining jay's photography
  rain
this student dislikes:
  hot drinks
  beetles
  the heat, really
  no airconditioning
currently, she is concerned about how jay kwon is taller than her that is so unfair, and wishes that the memory of jay's mother asking her how jay was as a boyfriend in front of jay himself would go away.

Name: Asher Martin Kenny
↳Nickname: Ash
Gender: Male
Age: 17
Grade: Junior
Department: Department of Athletics

Appearance: “description"/
Hair Color- Dark Brown, usually styled to looked slightly messy, and he tends to run a hand through it and mess it up from time to time.
Height- An even six feet
Body Type- Does “sex on a stick” count? He’s athletic, solidly built, with good muscle mass. He’s always working out, so its kinda a given. He’s attractive, and he knows it.
Faceclaim: Marlon Brando

Description:
History~ There isn’t really much to tell about Ash’s life. Or, there isn’t much he can actually tell you. His parents both work in intelligence, some high ranking officials in the CIA or something like that. He never really bothered to ask, because they couldn’t tell him anyway. Their job are the ones where “If I tell you, I’d have to kill you”. Eh, whatever. They’re always working, so Ash was basically raised by a nanny and whatever tutors he had around. He went to fancy schools his entire life, so coming to Rockwell just made sense for high school. His parents pretty much planned out his life for him, and he’s just along for the ride. Go to Rockwell, get into and attend West Point, join the intelligence community and work his way up. Pretty simple, really.

Personality~ Smooth AF. Ash spent most of his life trying to get the attention of his parents and other adults around him, so he knows how to get attention if he wants it. But mostly he prefers to be a jokester. Puns, cheesy jokes to actual funny comments, he’s got it all. He likes to have fun, and doesn’t care who knows it.

He works really hard to ensure that it looks like he’s not trying. From extra workouts at night and in the early mornings when people aren’t around, studying hard, he’s willing to go the extra mile to keep up his image of being a suave, carefree guy. Which isn’t that hard to upkeep, since that’s how he is.

Being a child of two intelligence officers, Ash knows the value of secrets. If you can’t buy loyalty with money and integrity, do it with secrets. He always has an ear to the ground, and keeps track of what he hears. You want something? Sure, he’ll help you, but you better be willing to pay. Threats are nothing when made with just brute force. They require a more tactical approach. People are much more receptive if you happen to know who they slept with last night, or what grade they got on their last test that they would rather not have their parents find out about.

Current Concern: It’d be nice to break the five minute mark in the mile.

Most Embarrassing Moment: It’s not an “Embarrassing” moment, per se, but defiantly a low point. Ash has found out that one of the best ways to get information is to talk to Kaylie Illusory. But there was one time that she told him that someone (who shall remain nameless for his sake-he’s not going to give you all of his best secrets, who do you think he is?) was being thrown out of her house and was moving across the ocean to shack up with her boyfriend in London. When he went to cash in on that, turns out that this person’s family was moving, and her boyfriend was relocating after graduating to get a job in London. After that, he’s always double checked on anything he gets from Kaylie.

─── ❝ PARKTAE-IL ❞ / / xviii & homme & demisexual & saito & senior ( ♛ )
THERE HAS never been a moment where Tae-il was free to think for himself, which is pretty ironic considering he's one of the smartest kids at Rockwell. Like sure, he gets to think about what formula to use and who invented what. But actual decision making for his actual life? Yeah, no. That pleasure was entirely his parents. And people ask why he constantly looks like he's about to have a mental breakdown.

Honestly, Tae-il doesn't even know what he wants to do with his life ━ has never seriously thought about it. Becoming a neurosurgeon doesn't sound that bad but it's not as if he's ever considered anything else. He's riddled with self-doubt, overcome by stress, and utterly at a loss for what to do about it. Guess there really is only so much espresso can do for a person.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
M.E.M : : When Tae-il was nine, he got a C on his report card. His parents, instead of simply telling him to do better, decided to throw a block-party with the theme being his 'failure'. There was a cake and everything. Yeah, he'll never be able to forget that.

━━━━ ⋄ ━━━━

CURRENT CONCERN : : Formulas, Tae-il understands. He can knock out his math homework in a second, and his chemistry homework in less time than that. But date memorization? Count him out. Who knew an American history class could be so confusing?

Liberty Madison Ashcroft [Madi, Mad]
18 - Senior - Fulsom
Bisexual - certain amount of internal denial over the fact - likes: soccer, v-ball, sour candy - dislikes: space, algorithms,
planning the future, baseball
description
description
description
fc- halston sage
green eyes - 5'8.5'' - hair is brunette with ombre blonde ends - no distinctive known markings - absolutely no poker face, very expressive unintentionally, though has difficulty conveying emotions

Yes, her mother named her Liberty, call her Madison, or any other variation you can come up with that doesn't involve equality and justice for all. Not that Madi is opposed to equal rights... it's just she doesn't want to be the mascot for it. She has always gone by Madison, so when she was enrolled into Rockwell her freshmen year, nothing changed.

Madison relies on humor for her world to function. Growing up in a household with a mom who works in the Department of Defense (rank; classified), and a Dad who was never around because of his constant involvement in the military, she somehow became someone who couldn't handle the crushing realizations of serious environments. She cocooned in a stressful living environment with a lot of pressure, and somehow butterflied into a girl with an easy-breezy sense of humor and a flirtatious innuendo-ridden joke bank. Though she has a tad of a manipulative streak in her, it's seldom used, as she prefers comedy instead -- but when those two things brush together... like say if bending someone to her will causes a laugh, game on.

Being the stark contrast of anyone else in her family, you can probably make the safe assumption that Madi's relationship with her parents struggles. Before her Dad passed, it was hard to make any kind of connection with him that wasn't going to sports games, when he didn't have to cancel unexpectedly... and with her Mom, well, Madi is pretty sure they have never connected over anything. Her mother is all about calculations and logic, Madi is about going where the wind takes her and making do. Despite her mother's crushing disappointment of her daughter (who she refuses to call by any other name but Liberty), the two somehow came to the agreement on Rockwell. Madi could specialize in the Fulsom if she kept straight As and applied to all of the Ivy League colleges -- so that's what she's doing. Even though she has no desire to attend any of them, but her mom doesn't really need to know that.

Though Madison is athletically inclined, she lacks a competitive edge that a lot of her classmates revel in. Sure, she wants to win as much as the next kid, but she's always just out there to enjoy herself, and it just so happens she usually wins in the process. Coaches always tell her if she put anger into her technique, she'd be an unstoppable force... but that's not really what sports has ever been about for her. She plays just about anything with grace, as does everyone at Rockwell, but her best sports have always been soccer and v-ball.

MEM: One time during soccer practice, Madison was off in her own little world staring at one of her fellow (very attractive and unnamed) teammates, and she took a ball straight to the face. It knocked her unconscious for a total of five minutes, and she got a concussion and a black eye that lasted weeks. Everyone thought she was too busy staring at the baseball team practicing behind their field, and Madison never corrected them -- since it was actually a girl from their team returning one of the fly-away baseballs to their catcher that she'd been watching. Everyone still teases her about her life endangering and extreme interest in baseball.

CC: What's going to happen to her when her Mom finds out she has no intention of attending an Ivy League.

JORDAN CALEB DOMINGUEZ   & eighteen & senior & gabriel

Jordan is an average Rockwell student. Good grades, rich family, and too much stress. When he isn't working on his major project — a series of sculptures created with the intention of questioning conventional definitions of beauty — he's sketching or taking photos. Having time to relax doesn't figure into the equation.

Many irritating (white) people have asked him, in the past, "Do you play basketball?" His answer is always a resounding no. Jordan finds many things annoying, but the one that gets him the most is people expecting all Afro-Latinx people to play basketball. Sport is gross.

current concern : finding an affordable decent-sized drawing tablet

most embarrassing memory : there was an air bubble in one of his pieces. enough said.

likes : ceramics & gardening & revenge of the sith memes

The Dominguez family are longstanding alumni of Rockwell, and the current teenage members are no exception. Jordan, however, is an exception in the respect that he's part of the Gabriel department, as opposed to the traditional Fulsom.

They're not disappointed. They're just... surprised. (His grandparents are disappointed, they thought they had raised their son's children better than this)

Imagine how they'd react if he told them he's gay.

─── ❝ MUNJI-YEON ❞ / / xvii & femme & bisexual & fulsom & junior ( ♛ )
LOOK, JI-YEON is a girl who knows exactly what she wants ─ even if she always doesn't know how to go after it. Sure, she has the confidence and she has the skill. But the smarts? Well, that's where Ji-yeon can be lacking. While Ji-yeon is by no means stupid she has kind of garnered the reputation of being Rockwell's resident ditz. She lacks common sense in certain areas ─ namely, everywhere that isn't the lacrosse field.

Whatever Ji-yeon might be lacking, however, she makes up for in her eagerness to dominate. She never backs down from a challenge and she knows she can show up anyone who dares try to go against her. Maybe she is just a tad over-competitive ─ but when has a desire to win ever hindered a good athlete? She's still a team-player, after all. If you ask her, she's only made better by her excitable nature.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
M.E.M : : After her lacrosse team won championship, they decided to go out for ice-cream. While this normally wouldn't be a big deal, Ji-yeon ran into the full glass window thinking it was the door and ended up getting her ice-cream everywhere.

━━━━ ⋄ ━━━━

CURRENT CONCERN : : Trying to get good enough grades for colleges to actually take interest in her. She's got the sports part down but...

ALEIDA CHANARA DOMINGUEZ
                   ★Sixteen                   ★Junior                   ★Fulsom

[history] Unlike her beloved older brother, Aleida is all about the Fulsom family tradition. She and God both know that her brain could never keep up with the Saito standard of academia that Rockwell requires. Sure, she could have done dance and slipped into the Gabriel ranks here, but she didn't. Had to keep her grandparents happy and smiling, or at least try to. Yeah, Soccer is the passion of Aleida's high school career. It's not her ultimate goal in life, no, she's far more interested in other things. One day she wants to be a politician, maybe even President, but to do that she's going to have to get into an Ivy school. Which is where she's willing to do anything to ensure that future. She's already done some pretty awful things....like feigning interest in a boy just to get some help in her classes last year. Too bad that all blew up and she's on her own this year. Well....for now anyway. She's sure she'll find someway to make sure her grades are at their top standing, and in the mean time she's going to focus on doing her best in soccer. Maybe her soccer skills could take her Ivy....maybe.

Valentina Isabella Dupont [Val, Valeri]
17 - Junior - Gabriel
heterosexual - likes: classical music, ballet, meal prepping - dislikes: sugar, technology, male dancers
description
description
fc- amanda steele
blue eyes - 5'7'' - platinum blonde - none anyone knows about (turtle is hidden)
other

Dancing is Valentina's world -- her mother was the youngest principal dancer of her time, and now it's Val's turn. That's what happens when your Dad is alumni and your mom wants you to get into Juilliard. It's okay, that's what Val wants too. She was raised to want it. She's been dancing for as long as she can remember, starting at a young age to make sure her legs grew bowed outwards and she had the flexible feet of a ballerina. She has worked so hard, it makes no sense not to ride it all the way out to the end. Even if her career will only last as long as her body, it's worth it, she knows nothing else. She can see no future beyond being a dancer, which is probably a problem... but not the way she sees it.

She's been going to the school since the beginning of her sophomore year, moving from her home in Belgium. Valentina never picked up any kind of accent: she had a live-in tutor that was American, which was who taught her to speak and read and whatever else. Her family traveled a lot due to her parent's line of work, so it was easier to have a teacher that traveled with them than to attempt to enroll her in any kind of schooling. She always appreciated them for that, because the amount of shows she was exposed to and classes of her mother's she got to watch -- just wow. It only increased her passion for performing arts. But there became a point where it was a distraction to her mom to drag Val around everywhere, and they figured a private institution like Rockwell would look better on her Juilliard application, so here she is. Not bitter at all.

Valentina is slow to understand a lot of people's sarcastic or inappropriate humor -- in her household people always said exactly what they meant, and though she's been at Rockwell a year already, it's still slow to come to her. She is a bit stuck-up and serious about all of her endeavors, and when people try to joke with her, she finds it annoying (because it makes her feel stupid when she doesn't understand), and pointless because every action should have purpose. That's basically Val's mantra -- if you don't have a purpose for doing something, you shouldn't do it.

MEM: In her last month of school last year, her roommate got her completely plastered on a weekend trip home to her friend's house. Valentina woke up the next day with a tattoo of a turtle on her lower right side near the bottom of her ribcage (she doesn't even like turtles), and a hot pink streak in her hair. Her parents freaked out, got her roommate kicked out of the school (she was on her last leg anyways, that was just the final blow), still. Her parents were on a warpath, because why would she do something so stupid to her hair? It could damage her entire body condition and HOW RECKLESS. She never told her parents about the tattoo bc fear, and she sat in a salon chair for hours returning her hair back to it's premium platinum blonde glow.

CC: Perfecting her freestyle solo audition dance for Juilliard.

SORAYA BEHZADI — eighteen /// senior /// fulsom
hockey + cross country + good literature // patriots + economics + rude people
( diplomat's daughter )

concern // anti-muslim sentiments
embarrassing memory // she crashed into someone whilst playing ice hockey bc she got distracted [by a pretty girl on the sideline]

Soraya's life is complicated, at best. Her mother is a diplomat from a Middle-Eastern country, her father is a bookshop owner. People call her a Muslim — but her father is Jewish, and she doesn't follow either religion particularly closely. Sure, she participates in Ramadan and wears a headscarf, but she had her bat mitzvah. She doesn't attend either mosque with particular regularity, nor is she especially involved in either community. And frankly, she doesn't particularly care about religion, nor does she think it should be a defining aspect of her life.
Also headscarves are great for keeping hair out of your face.

"And it don't take much to want you/Lovely, let me be your fool"
description description
name:
Elena "Ellie" Erin Broadwood - Broadwood as in the Broadwood family, rich in a way that's been accepted as such for so long now that it's been forgotten how that money came to be. It's merely a fact: the sky is blue and the Broadwoods sweat money. If her grades didn't speak for themselves, most would probably think that family's money alone was enough to get Ellie into Rockwell. After all, her bubbly attitude has been known to get her mistakenly labeled as ditzy.
age:
Eighteen
grade:
Senior
department:
Gabriel Department of the arts
appearance:
description description description
face claim: Dominique Provost-Chalkley
description:
As the daughter of the practically infamously rich Broadwood couple, there are certain expectations most seem to have about Ellie. Maybe it's the idea that money brings out the worst in people, but it's generally expected that Ellie is some arrogant, rich snob. Unfortunately, she has no control over the money practically overflowing their bank account - what she does have control over, however, is what kind of person she is. Which is why the girl tries to be as nice as they come, bubbly and optimistic in a society that's grown cold with dollar signs in their eyes. She's a bit of the black sheep, both within her uninterested family and the crowd she runs with - even she herself has noticed it, how the peers she calls friends are anything but friendly. It's the money, Ellie knows, that makes her friends stab each other in the back and talk petty nonsense about one another and she tries to understand, she really does, but since she's started dating Jasper? The youngest Broadwood has begun realizing maybe there's no point wasting your time on people who want nothing more than to tear you down. Not when there's people like Jasper in the world, who are caring and sweet and everything that's good.
likes:
☼ Photography. At one point in time, scenery had been where she really shined, capturing the natural light that could begrudgingly impress even her otherwise indifferent parents. Lately though, she's taken a far different approach: portraits. Of Jasper, to be exact. Most of the time he's adorably bashful about it, but she isn't ashamed to admit she's used her puppy dog eyes to her advantage.
☼ Pugs. Their adorable little wrinkles are her biggest weakness and Ellie has wanted a pug since she was about four years old and saw her first one at a dog show her mother dragged her toddler to. Long story short, the nanny who was scheduled to watch her called out sick and Mrs. Broadland absolutely refused to miss it. Of course, she stopped asking for one when she was nine and her mother made it quite clear she would never be getting one - but a girl can dream.
dislikes:
☂ Labels. The girl absolutely detests labels, trying to shove something as complex as another human being into this little teeny tiny box in order to categorize them. If you ask her, nothing is black and white and trying to classify someone as one particular thing is pointless because people are ever-changing and full of the ability to surprise you.
☂ Money. It might be easy enough to believe her to be materialistic, but it's actually quite the opposite case. In case it hasn't become obvious enough, Ellie truly does believe money is the cause of most of our problems. Her parents are cold and disinterested because they've come to believe they can use finances to solve any and all problems and, on the other end of the spectrum, people struggle to make ends meet because of a lack of money. It's a catch twenty-two and there is no winning.
current concern:
Those friends she previously mentioned, the ones obsessed with money and status? They've made it quite clear they don't approve of her boyfriend. She tries to shield Jasper from it as much as she can, but Jasper isn't oblivious. Ellie is anything but good at confrontation but she knows it's coming soon - with every eye roll and silent dismissal Jasper's given, she can feel something protective and ugly roaring inside her chest.
most embarrassing moment:
Ellie has always been notoriously late to most things and puberty was no exception. She was a late bloomer, which is hardly a rare thing, and the summer she turned sixteen was sort of when her bra size became drastically bigger. Needless to say, the people who mattered most hardly noticed the change and when she was invited to a pool party, the bathing suit the family stylist picked out was hardly appropriately sized for the most recent . . . developments. Ellie learned the hard way that trying to make something fit that very clearly is not meant to fit? Not at all a good idea. The bikini top left very little to the imagination - and that was before she attempted to adjust the straps and accidentally pulled the strings loose completely. Apparently, if you look hard enough online, those photos of Elena Broadwood completely topless are still floating around, as much as her parents have tried and failed to snuff them out. And needless to say, the stylist was fired, despite Ellie's protests.

EUN-JAE IS NOT just a tennis player. As far as he's concerned, he's the fucking prince of tennis. Maybe it's arrogance; maybe the hair bleach has given him a sports anime protagonist complex. Either way, Eun-jae has overflowing, and perhaps foolishly so, confidence.

He's the kind of kid who just holds himself like he knows he's something special; and maybe he is, considering that he's ranked #3 nationally for juniors. Of course, that #3 isn't where he wants to be (honestly, what's the point of being an athlete if you're not shooting to be the best?), but it's a work in progress. He'll be there by the time he starts his senior year, he's sure.

You can call him stupid (true), you can call him an obnoxious braggart (also true), but you can't fault him for having faith in his ability on the court. That is something he can back himself up on. And, well, if he's not acing his classes? Whatever. That's what athletic scholarships are for.

TATIANA · BROOKS ❞ ─── xviijuniorstraightsaitochem/bio

adores ; bath bombs & teaabhors ; cinnamon & bigots

m.e.m ; when she dressed up for her crush last year and ended up tripping up the stairs after not watching where she was walking while wearing five inch heels. she can still feel her cheeks burn.

concern ; trying to convince her parents that she doesn't need friends in order to thrive & perfecting her calligraphy so she can have an aesthetic bullet journal layout for the gram.

EVEN WHEN Tatiana was little, she never wanted to be anything other than one of the greats. Her idols became people like Mary Jackson and Jane Cooke Wright ━ black women who impacted their fields, black women who overcame discrimination and their hardships to do something amazing. It's not just about doing it to be remembered; it's about empowerment and about change. She has a big dreams and she intends to make them reality.

But Tatiana is not some school girl with stars in her eyes; she's a woman driven by determination and fueled by ambition. Worrying about making friends and thinking before she speaks are just things she doesn't have time for. She pushes herself to the limit, always going farther than the last time. So what if she doesn't know how to be emotionally vulnerable when she be the person who finds a cure for cancer? She'll stick with acquaintances.

ADAM · HWANG ❞ ───── xviijuniorgayfulsomswimming

adores ; puns & rappingabhors ; control-freaks & kiwi

m.e.m ; freshman year, during one of his very first races, adam slipped off the starting block when the whistle startled him. he lost that one.

concern ; finding a polite way to tell his dad to fuck off ━ he's kind of old enough to make his own decisions now including who he sleeps with.

AS FAR as Adam's concerned, he's a pretty good kid. He gets good grades, he has good friends (a few good ones, but hey; quality over quantity), and he's managed to make nearly record-breaking times on his butterfly stroke. Unfortunately, it never seems to be enough for Adam's dad. It doesn't matter what Adam does; there's always something to critique, something that could be done better. While his mom usually sticks up for him, it's hard going up against the tyrant that is his father ━ the very same that pushed him to be in fulsom.

Adam's interests have always been second to what his dad wanted. Rap is considered 'thuggish' and 'immature' among a list of other adjectives; his seemingly cold nature keeps potential friends away ━ "You need to make friends so you can have connections. Stop looking like an ass, Adam." And then, when Adam tried to tell his parents he was gay sophomore year... Well, his dad thought he'd been telling him one of his 'stupid jokes' and laughed. While Adam tries not to be bothered by his dad and continues to live life as he pleases, it's hard feeling like he's not accepted.

Everything about Yara is loud. She doesn't believe in dulled-down, muted things. If you can't make something enjoyable, exciting, interesting, why bother making it at all?

Yes, his last name is Hershey, like the chocolate. Because he's related to Milton Hershey, the guy that got rich off the stuff. For as long as he can remember, he's been branded with money and connections -- so how are you ever supposed to know when people actually like you for you? Rich people problems. But it's a real issue for Garret, since he's such a horrible judge of character. How else could he have gotten completely scammed by Aleida? That's where Asher comes in, but we'll get to that later.

Garret isn't the typical Saito kid playing in his dorm room with his chemistry set. He's nerdy, for sure, but he specializes in finding creative ways to break rules. He has the mind for the rigorous academic challenge Rockwell offers, but he puts his more scholarly projects on the back-burner, preferring to work on coding, hacking, smuggling, and all of the other things that could get him thrown out. It hasn't happened yet though, and it probably won't, since he's ridiculously careful about everything he does. He plans down to a T every grade alteration, stolen test, and black mail opportunity -- almost to the point of insanity, and much to the annoyance of Asher.

A lot of things about Garret annoy Asher, and many wonder how the two even ended up friends -- also a mystery. Because when people look at Garret, they see a short little nerdy kid that's semi-attractive, but has a lot of dorky quirks that are an immediate turn-off to most girls... and then you have Asher, who is... well just look at him. But it happened, and now they're closer than blood. They make a pretty good team too, complimenting each other's skills well. Asher is a people-person, the one that exacts payment and decides who is going to be helped and at what price, and Garret gets the goods. It's hard to remember what life was like before their friendship.

Walking around campus, Garret just looks like one of the many kids around Rockwell that is going to work for a think-tank for the rest of their existence, contemplating a load of 3 page long math problems with a bunch of Russian men. He always has his laptop on him, and usually some other additional form of technology. His dorm room looks like some evil layer complete with his own tower server. But when you talk to him, you can see that his eyes don't light up over algorithms or a history book, but for adventure and mischievous deeds.

MEM: Every single time he remembers how Aleida manipulated him and played him out like the idiot he was. Since it wasn't really an isolated incident, but a lot of encounters, text messages, and wishful thoughts over a period of a few weeks. Talk about bruised ego.

CC: How he's ever going to figure a career path that supports his lifestyle.

Body Type Long and slender, but proportionate, as a model should be
Distinctive Markings Does a shredded heart and a hot-ass personality count? She has a birthmark shaped like a half-moon on her left hip, and a small tattoo of the word laugh behind her right ear.
Faceclaim: Taylor Marie Hill

description:
description

History:
You know the Appot Brand, the clothes that your parents have worn since they were in high school and they will continue to wear until they die. It’s not exactly luxury fashion, but it’s every day, I’m-almost-rich-enough-to-wear-designer-clothing clothing, and it made her parents buckets and buckets of money. So they got to travel, to see the world, she had private tutors, the life of luxury, what else is new.

Raegan wasn’t exactly an accident, she was a happy….unexpected surprise. Her parents never planned on having children, so they were older when they had Raegan. Not that it really matters, except for they had more money and less energy to raise a rambunctious little girl and instead handed her over to nanny’s and tutors. Reagan’s nanny is who she actually considers her mother, since she raised her since she was four.

After years of homeschooling so that she could travel with her parents and be exposed and gifted with a lifestyle that few ever get the chance to experience, her parents sternly decided that she was going to high school, and it was going to be Rockwell. It wasn’t the worst thing she’d ever been told, and with the allowance they give her every week, Reagan could still travel on the weekends if she wanted to. But she decided to give the whole high school thing a chance, maybe make some friends, maybe learn a couple things…who knows?

Freshman year is when she met…him. In the span of two years, they went from strangers, to kinda friends, to best friends, to dating, to constantly fighting, breaking up, and now Reagan is hella bitter about it. She won’t tell you that, but she’ll never forgive him for what he did. The dick.

description
Personality:
Raegan is a girl who likes to have fun. As much fun as possible. You want to go run around campus after curfew? Yes. Wanna jet off to Europe last minute for a long weekend? Totally. You want to go out and party on a weeknight? Beat you to it. Anything that involves laughing, doing something silly and making a ton of fun memories, she’s down for. Reagan has always lived by the idea that life is way to short, and if you aren’t doing everything you possibly can to enjoy every single second, then you’re a looser, and you’re missing out.

Being a collector of experiences and pretty things and shiny memories has been her MO since she was a kid. She tends to make friends easily and comes across as peppy, genuine and happy. 95% of the time she has a smile on her face and a laugh in her eyes, and the other 5% is when she’s on a more serious modeling shoot.

She’s not exactly sure when she discovered she loved fashion and modeling, but the combination of her love for adventure and growing up around her parents in the fashion industry gave her the idea to combine both and start her own fashion blog. Her connections through her family allowed her to travel around the world to watch fashion shows, and so far its worked to her advantage. Now at Rockwell she’s trying to make the most of every day and find the fun. She’ll be the first to admit she may not be the life of the party, but she’s going to be there either way.

current concern: Perfecting her catwalk size and staying the hell away from anyone whose name starts with “V”.

most embarrassing moment: So. Travel tip. Always pack an extra pad or tampon so that you don’t end up on a ten hour plane ride with your period, and have to ask the flight attendant for something to use. While everyone around you can hear you.

GEORGE ELLIOT WILLIAMS
                   ★Eighteen                   ★Senior                   ★Gabriel

[history] It's Elliot, please. George is not a fun name. It's not a sexy name- seriously no girl wants to call out the name 'George' in bed. Haven't you seen that movie Easy A? George is out. No matter which Harry Potter characters might share the same name. Elliot here is not returning to Rockwell after the past three years of tutelage here. No. This is his first year, he's as new as all these poor chaps who got lucky enough to swindle their way past the pearly white gates. See, Elliot is originally a Brit boy. Born and raised. His father is part of the House of Lords, one of the 90 hereditary peers. Yes, yes, the Williams are old money, who can trace their heritage back to Lords and Ladies spanning hundreds of generations. It's no matter to Elliot, he couldn't care less.

As for why he's here and not at some fancy school in Britain? or Europe in general? Well it's simple. He's been expelled from nearly every reputable one, the ones he hasn't been expelled from refuse to take him in. So here he is, at an American school! Brilliant ain't it? He certainly thinks so, and he can't wait to have some fun with all these loose american girls.

▲ Flowers/plants, honestly his roommate must hate that their room is more jungle than dorm room
▲ Anything Spicy
▲ Parties

▼ Owls
▼ Waking up early
▼ Monkey suits

[current concern] how many girls can he make his way through before things start to get awkward at school?
[specialty] Writing - he wants to be a big famous hollywood screen writer one day
[mem] Well, Elliot doesn't think it's embarrassing. But plenty of other people do. He used to be at an all boys school you see, and he sneaked his way all the way over to their sister school. Right into the bed of Emily Wallace....the daughter of Headmaster Wallace. Who actually stopped by to pick up his daughter for dinner. Only Elliot answered the door. Wearing nothing.....and the scandal was very large, there was screaming, he was pretty sure Headmaster Wallace almost popped a vein. The mildly irritating thing was Headmaster Wallace dragged Elliot back to school.....without allowing for him to grab his clothes. Now he knows how girls feel doing that whole walk of shame thing.

Megs is the kind of girl, and journalist, that doesn't take no for an answer. No matter how far she has to take it, she will get the answers that she is looking for, and will consistently call people out who attempt to lie to her. That might get her neck-deep in drama, but it's worked for her for the last few years and has paid off, so why would she give up on anything now? During her time at Rockwell, Megs has acquired quite the portfolio, and she wouldn't change it for the world. Even if it has gotten her the reputation of a manipulative life-ruiner -- but let's be honest, what girl at Rockwell hasn't been there? If you don't want someone to publish your secrets, don't lie to people. If you're going to go off on spring break and cheat on your girlfriend, expect there to be a very public backlash.

Obviously Megara isn't the girl to cross... but it's not like she's on a warpath to make enemies, she just won't drop a story once she picks it up, that's just how her personality has always been. She'd rather live in honesty and be embarrassed with the truth than give someone else a reason later on to blackmail her or something, which is more common at Rockwell than coach purses. She has learned to live like someone is always watching, because it's Rockwell, and there's a good chance that someone is. Come on guys, just because your parents have money doesn't mean you can do whatever you want.

MEM: In the beginning of her freshmen year, Megs had a very obvious crush on Asher Kenny (because who didn't). It didn't last long, but now he thinks he has to bring it up every time they see each other, like it wasn't three damn years ago. She doesn't know what the hell she ever saw in him, well besides the body, because the boy is a disgusting piece of... ugh. She just hates everything he stands for. Starting useless drama based on lies just for fun. It's revolting.

CC: Perfecting her professional portfolio and getting through senior year with good marks for the Ivy.

The thing about Babette is that she never really liked living in France. Sure it was a creative capital of pretty much the entire world, but everyone was trying to hard to be better than everyone else at art. So much so that Babette felt like people in France were missing the point of art entirely and making it obsolete before they ever touched a brush to canvas. On the other hand, France was the home of some of the greatest art galleries on the planet, and that made Babette feel a little better about living there.

When Babette was thirteen, her parents got the idea to send her to prestigious academies in America for her skill in painting. It was a terrible idea, partly because Babette didn't know any English, and partly because she was terrified of leaving home on her own. So Babette's parents gave her a year to prepare before they sent her across the pond to attend school at Rockwell with her broken English and terrible separation anxiety where she would stay all year round, only visiting her parents for less than a month each summer. It didn't go well for little Babette.

Now Babette is a little more confident with herself. Her English is much better, but still heavily accented, her painting skills have increased, and Babette overall feels a lot better about being on her own. She's still kind of angry at her parents for sending her to Rockwell though. If it had been up to Babette, she would have chosen to go to Germany. Still, Babette chooses to be ever the optimist despite her annoying nickname still haunting her occasionally.

Jess will tell you, instantly, that she lives for swimming and high jump. And any psychologist who's as good as they should be will tell you, instantly, that is a complete lie. Jess does enjoy swimming and high jump. But is it what she lives for? No, that place in her heart has always been occupied by plays. But how to break that news to her sport-obsessed parents who think that drama is for people with no actual talents? Well, Jess' solution is to not, and just make the most of her swimming career.

Regardless of her heritage as the daughter of two of the world's greatest psychologists, Simone was not meant for great things. Sure, she's great at reading people, and even better at keeping people from reading her, but it's all pointless when the girl with great skills has no motivation to take her to the top.

Simone actually lacks motivation for a lot of things. She doesn't put up with facades, or liars, or people that think they are way bigger than their fucking britches because is all pointless if you get to the top and aren't happy being their. So Simone employs a simple strategy, much to the horror of her parents and Rockwell teachers that think they're doing her a favor trying to turn her into a proper lady. Simone is here on this Earth for a good time, not a long time. Good times include, partying, skipping classes of teachers she doesn't like, not answering her parent's phone calls, sleeping with anybody that is even semi-promiscuous on campus, and binge watching tv in her dorm room whenever people seem like a hassle. Fuck whoever thinks they can stop her.

To say that Eric is intelligent would be an understatement. His mother is one of the top geneticists in the world, her work is cited in nearly every paper that has to even remotely deal in genetics, and Time magazine seems to believe Laurel Dunn will be the one to cure cancer. Eric's dad, well step-dad actually, is a trophy dad, which is as weird as it sounds. The guy is all looks and no brains and is only five years older than Eric himself. At first Eric was kind of mad about his mom's choice of husband, but even if Sam doesn't know what a caterpillar is, he's a pretty okay dude in Eric's book.

Eric's mom was always hyper vigilant about his education, making sure he went to the top schools and had all of the top tutors, even having him intern in her lab over summers to give him an edge in the academic world. While Eric doesn't exactly love genetic engineering, he doesn't have anything else he would rather do, and he's already damn good at it.

PENNY has always dreamed big. A tall girl with taller ambitions, she's never been one to back down from any sort of challenge. She knows she has everything it takes to make a successful life for herself, by herself — her parents have taught her that. She's a girl who knows what she wants, and she's not afraid to do what it takes to achieve it. She writes day and night, writes for school, for the high school students who pay her to write their college essays, for fun, and for what she feels is responsibility. One day, she'll be a voice for her people — for Asian Americans, for Korean Americans, and she's gonna be so damn loud that no one will be able to ignore her.

Of course, this doesn't come without some cost, and some people tend to be off-put by her strong personality. Penny says what she wants to say, when she wants to say it, and what she means. She has tact, of course; it's not as though she's lacking social graces. It's just that between her fearless honesty and her resting bitch face, people seem to find her prickly and unapproachable. (Come on, we're talking about the girl who cries every time she watches The Little Mermaid.) But that's okay. She doesn't need them, anyway. She's just a girl and her words; and sure, it gets a little lonely, but really, what more does she need?

Jae Kim, according to his peers: Smartass. Lazy ass. Has a great ass. Because the thing is, Jae has everything, so he doesn't want to do anything. What is there left for him to gain? He was born into enough money that he never has to lift a finger for as long as he lives, he's #3 in the class without ever studying any one subject for more than two hours total, and, quite frankly, he doesn't want to do work. There are better ways for him to spend his time, like playing video games the night before midterms. (He'll ace them, anyway.)

It's not like Jae is here to learn. Well, technically, yeah, he is. But that's not his goal. He just wants to have fun — you know, play games, get drunk, kiss a few girls, live life. Because whether he likes it or not, come graduation, he's going off to be a business student and inherit the company his father and grandfather have groomed for him. What more could a boy want?

Department: Saito
Specialty: STEM
Current Concern: His father threatened to cancel his credit cards if he doesn't stop spending it all on gas money to spend as much time as possible off-campus.
Most Embarrassing Memory: Look. He has a great ass. A great body, really. So of course Jae wears things that will flatter his figure. And okay, maybe the skinny jeans were not the best choice — they may have ripped in front of his chemistry lab class to reveal Girls' Generation logo print boxers, but now we all laugh about it, right? Right?

Benji was raised by his single mother up to the age of eight, when she married into a family with old money. Benji wasn't of their bloodline at all, they argued, and the fact that he'd came out to them as gay (against his will) didn't help matters at all. His mother, too, was accused of being a gold-digger, and to stop his stepfamily from making things even more difficult for his parents and his brother, Benji was shipped off to boarding school.

Despite his stepfamily's meddling, Benji maintains a close relationship with his maternal relatives, and every long holiday is a trip back to his hometown.

name:
Vincent "Vince" Knightly - because if anyone were to label him as anything, it would definitely be a white knight, right? Ha. As if. More like the thing you need saving from.
age:
Seventeen
grade:
Junior
department:
Fulsom Department of Athletics - or hockey, to be more specific. Gotta have something to get that not-so-pent-up aggression out, right? And what better way than a sport that so openly allows shows of violence? And that most certainly encourages quite the temper he's had long since before he was handed the hockey stick and ice skates. Not that most people know anything about that temper, as he's gone the extra mile to keep it concealed.
appearance:
description description description description
face claim: Jack Gilinsky
description:
Vince is nothing if not the product of rich parents who believe money can pay off just about anything, spoiled to the point where it's rotted him, both inside and out. Maybe he hasn't always been like this, but it's gotten worse the older he's gotten, as he's realized the power and empty feeling that comes along with money. To put things bluntly, he's a selfish little prick who has very little -if any- consideration for others, unless it somehow benefits back to him. With little to no shame for anything he wants, he's incredibly shallow and yet has absolutely no drive to do anything in order to get what he wants. It's the easy things he thrives on, which is why he's the boy your parents warned you about, the one who's willing to lie and cheat to get you in bed and then never call you again like he just promised he would. That heart the few things he used to do alluded to has long since frozen over, not that you'd ever know just looking at him. In fact, examine him over a long enough period of time and you'd probably notice those startling traits of his that align nearly perfectly with a psychopath. Lack of empathy? Check. Narcissism? Check. Superficial charm? Check. Manipulation? Check. To be completely honest, you're probably better off never having met Vincent. And God help you if you've landed yourself on his deliberate Shit List. Looking at you, Raegan baby.
likes:
⚕Drugs, booze, and sex. If you ask Vince, it's the perfect combination of deadly sins that will make you forget any and all problems. Like bitchy exes. Oh yes, homeboy has had plenty of experience with those. Which is why, if you ask him, relationships in general are a complete waste of time. Why tie down to one girl when you can have them all? It seems pretty clear cut to him: drink up, get high, and find a girl or two who will distract for the night.
⚕Rap. Does that make him a fuckboy? Maybe just a little. I mean, that combined with just about every other personality trait he possesses. But hey, a boy likes what he likes and he'll use those charming smiles he specializes in to convince you it doesn't really make him a toolbag if he's passionate about it. You know, passion. The thing that explains away even the worst of behaviors, wouldn't you agree?
dislikes:
⚠ Raegan. If you'd asked him how he'd felt about her before? Answer would have been a hell of a lot different. The sex was epic, if that says anything. But turns out she's actually as big of a bitch as they come and he absolutely hates her with everything he has. She was ungrateful as fuck and hardly realized what a good thing she had with him, doing nothing but seeing flaws that didn't exist. So don't bring her up, and he's as chill as can be. Well . . . Bring her up at your own fucking risk.
⚠ - There's this special kind of person, who can see through the facade people put up like it's nothing more than a thin, cheap sheet, and it's those kind of people that creep Vincent the fuck out. They can call other people out on their bullshit like it's their job and they are really the downfall for people like him.
current concern:
Vince thrives on implementing the least amount of effort in just about everything he does - which is why surviving at Rockwell? Well, it's become a bit of a strain, to say the least. He's never been strong at academics and it was most certainly his parents unlimited cash flow that influenced his acceptance into the school more than anything else. He sure as fuck doesn't actually bring anything to the table, other than a talent with ice skates and a puck. And even then, he's hardly the best player Rockwell has, or the biggest, or the strongest - or really anything exceptional, not in a school full of kids who are all nothing but exceptional.
most embarrassing moment:
Vince doesn't really do embarrassment - it's like the emotion doesn't register on him. It hardly ever occurs to him to feel bashful over a past experience - the thing that comes closest though was when everything blew up with Raegan. It really looked like he was turning a new leaf there for a moment - until of the sudden, it became very clear he was doing anything but. Not to mention, it really fucked with his reputation there for a good minute or two. Most have forgotten by now though, that he made the one person he's ever cared about cry like it didn't even effect him.

m.e.m ; when she spilled red paint all over her white pants during her first period art class and had to walk around looking like a horrible accident had just taken place.

concern ; how to remain entirely focused throughout a single project so she can actually get some things done. Oh, and maybe she can also figure out her sexuality.

VAL HAS never been a good artist. Sure, she can draw the basics ━ but compared to some of these Gabriel kids? Well, she might as well be drawing stick figures for all they compare. Her real talent lies primarily in sculpting, and she'd be lying if she said she's never dreamed about becoming some sort of modern day Michelangelo. Hell, maybe her dreams could even come true ━ if she could stay focused on a single project for more than five minutes.

That's not to say that Val is disorganized or easily uninspired; she's just really passionate about what she does but lacks the proper kind of direction. It's kind of the reason she's even here. Her parents know that she has the potential; they just hope that Rockwell can shape it into something great.

Maybe because her mom is a confident, beautiful, and well-known model for luxury brands that Elyse Beaufort is just as confident and beautiful. Well-known? Not so much, but she's working on it. Elyse knows she's pretty and confident and she exudes it. She walks with a little sway and her head held high.

It's a little difficult for anyone to first get along with Elyse because of her personality and the way she holds herself; it always seems like she's too good to be hanging around someone, but that's not quite the case. Elyse is pretty easy to get along with, but she's extremely straightforward and says whats on her mind, which often give people the wrong idea. It can get worse when she gets sassy with someone who's tested her patience, which she has quite a lot.

Oh, by the way, if you were wondering about her name, Elyse has her dad's surname, who is a Frenchman. Her mom is Korean-American. This makes Elyse a French-Korean-American lady.

MARILYN ANNE RHODES
                   ★Sixteen                   ★Junior                   ★Gabriel

[history] Yes, Marilyn here is part of that Rhodes family, descendant of Cecil Rhodes- the founder of De Beers. For you naive little souls that are unaware, the De Beers corporation happens to be the top Diamond company in the world. Yup, this ditzy blonde is the sole heiress to her family's rather large share in the 'diamond cartel' company. So honestly, it doesn't matter what she decides to do with her life, and her parents have always made that clear. As long as she finds a husband and carries on the family lineage they have no concern as to the future that awaits their only child. It's not as though she could spend all the money they own, it would take several lifetimes to even go through half of what they have.

So Marilyn has always grown up with a certain amount of freedom in her life. She wanted to go to New York for the weekend and see Wicked opening night? Sure, here are the keys for the jet. She missed school for a day? well try not to miss too many days. That's how her life has always been, just sort of floating along, doing what she must - like studying hard enough to get into Rockwell but not so much that it's all she does. The only thing that really seems to bring her joy is music; cheesy showtune catchy pop song music.

But who knows, maybe this year at Rockwell she'll find something to help ground her. Especially since her roommate for the past two years.....well won't be returning from last year. Yeah, she's a little shaken by the suicides to say the least.

▲ Pop Music
▲ Soft blankets
▲ Bubblegum flavored lip-gloss
▲ Coffee

▼ The dark
▼ Spiders
▼ Running - don't put her down for cardio
▼ Internet Lag

[current concern] which new charm should she get for her pandora bracelet this month?
[specialty] Musical Theater - One day this name is going to be all over Broadway
[mem] Freshman year Marilyn got involved with the wrong boy. Long story short he shared some naughty pictures the two of them had exchanged, and at least 50% of Rockwell has seen her topless. Yay.

age:
Eighteen
grade:
Senior - in other words, about to graduate, and she couldn't be happier about that fact. Which has less to do with any sort of problems at school and everything to do with domestic issues. Her household has always felt more like a cage than a home and more so as of late, after having secrets she had been completely ignorant to finally revealed. Kathleen is completely living for the moment when she can walk away from all ties to the Fontaine name.
department:
Gabriel Department of Arts, painting specifically. Her parents never have and never will encourage it but she's been painting since she's seven and it's the one thing that's always remained pure and untouched by the money and greed present in every other aspect of her life. She nearly always has paint somewhere on her body because of her 'hobby' and what was once cute and endearing as a child is now unprofessional and somehow a sign she's unkept.
appearance:

description:
Kathleen has never been a good person, that much has always been clear. Like her parents, she was spoiled and money created this rich princess and worse, still, than that? She was mean, a sharp, honed skill she picked up from mother dearest. Known as the girl who used her tongue to start verbal warfare like it was second nature to her, Kathleen was hardly somebody who easily picked up friends something she still hasn't quite learned how to do. While her parents definitely molded her into such an entitled little rich girl, there comes a point in life when everyone must stop and evaluate themselves and who they've become purely due to their own making. For this redhead, that point came when she was told about Clara, the sister she never knew she had. Apparently, dad couldn't keep it in his pants -not that this was really a surprise, it had always been an unspoken truth in her family- and he winded up getting the maid pregnant. Her parents only decided to tell her this after getting word her sister would be attending Rockwell on scholarship. And suddenly, it was like having her eyes opened to a disgusting reality: her parents always have been monsters. People who throw money in the direction of any and all appearing problems. They're selfish people and the worst thing about this truth was realizing that so was she. The only thing that made Kathleen different from her parents was Clara. Knowing she had a sister, one she would be meeting no less, and also knowing her sister would absolutely and rightfully so hate the person Kathleen was. Which sort of explains how she has gotten to the state she's currently in, one of rehabilitation, if you will. You know, trying to be a better person and all that cheesy jazz. She's a work in progress for sure, still having an obnoxiously short amount of patience for people in general. But she's trying - harder, in fact, than with anything else she's ever done. And that has to count for something . . . Right? Does she at least get a participation trophy?
likes:
♛ Yoga. Well, 'like' is a strong word, especially considering how much she actually hates it? But she's found it's helpful with the chronic pain - forcing her muscles into relaxation was one of the many lifestyle changes she's had to get used to.
♛ Plush blankets. Again, emphasizes that princess vibe she's got going on, but the material has always felt extremely comforting on her skin - like a giant hug she can fall asleep wrapped in. Not like she's massively lacking signs of affection or anything.
dislikes:
♕ Jazz music. I'm sorry but what the fuck is that? How is that even considered music? It's just about the only genre of music she can't tolerate and it's just unbearable if you ask her. Like literally anything but jazz. Rap? Sign her up to look like your residential white girl. Rock? She's not afraid to admit she has a few songs downloaded on her phone. Pop? She can name every song on the radio. But jazz? No.
♕ Injustices. Now, surely everyone dislikes social injustices but Kathleen has become incredibly passionate about them. Social injustices, racial injustice, economic injustices - when her eyes opened, they really opened and she's realized life isn't nearly as rosey if you don't have the same privileges she has.
most embarrassing moment:
Kathleen has suffered from really bad migraines for as long as she could remember, something that went untreated until she was a sophmore in high school - her parents never understood the fits of pain. When she was in middle school, she had this teacher who was convinced she was lying about her headaches as an attempt to get out of class. When she raised her hand at the beginning to the class to ask to go to the nurse, she promptly told to wait until the end of the class. By about ten minutes into the class, the lights were so bright, she had to keep her head down on her desk. Another five minutes in and her teacher's voice was so loud, Kathleen was sobbing and begging to be able to go to the nurse. The nuseua was all consuming, to the point where she was hardly aware of the laughter as she was finally allowed to go to the nurse. Not until the next day of course, when she was the talk of the hallways. After all, middle schoolers are hardly known for their extensive medical knowledge.

When you have the great job that gives you enough money to roll around in, even after buying your perfect house, and then your perfect vacation house, and then enough cars to fill the second garage you had added to your property... the only thing missing from that little white picket fence dreamland are the screaming children. And when Karen learned she was infertile, the money funnel got pointed away from cars and towards fertility treatment centers -- and before long, it all paid off, because she became pregnant with twins. Jordan and Jesse. And when you work that hard to have children, you know, the ones you never thought you were going to be able to have? They get spoiled.

From early childhood, Jordan and his brother were pampered and told the world was theirs to command. They had money, and they were good looking, so that meant that they were better. The twins only went to the best private schools, had the best tutors for lessons, and only associated themselves with the best of people. When they acted out at school and were called to the Headmaster's office, their parents were summoned, and suddenly it was the teacher's fault the boys had dumped paint on a defenseless little girl's new dress. Mommy's little boys were coddled and told they had done nothing wrong, and the teacher was fired -- because that's the kind of power money and entitlement have on the world.

As you might imagine, the boys grew up believing they were perfect, because that's all they had been told their entire lives. Confidence has never been a problem for the boys. They have always gotten what they wanted it, be it from teachers, friends, enemies or their parents. Why wouldn't they? With those perfect blue eyes, and sweet words that could flatter the skirt off a nun.

[history] The Carnegie twins graced the world with their presence at 1:10 in the morning on Christmas Day. That's right. They're the best Christmas gifts the world has ever seen, and the best thing to happen to their parents in forever. See, Karen and Robert had wanted kids for quite a long time, to no avail. But when you have money, not having kids isn't really an option, because you have money so why not pay for the treatments or adopt a horde of children from a third world country? The treatments worked, but the egg split into two and boom- identical twins Jesse and Jordan.

See, Jesse has never known a life without Jordan. As kids they shared a room for pete's sake, and their mother adored dressing them in the same outfits. So yeah, maybe it was natural that they would grow up to be as close as they are. See it's pretty much impossible to tell them apart. Even their parents confuse them, especially when they both go so far out of their way to mess with people's heads by looking as alike as possible.

And everyone adores the Carnegie twins. Who wouldn't? What with those great summer parties they're always throwing at their private island or at their many resorts. See, if you haven't been to a Carnegie party, that basically means you're worthless. You're less than nobody, because even the not so popular kids of the upper 1% of the world get invited.

And Jesse and Jordan? Are basically the reigning Kings of the Party world. No one throws a party without them being invited. If you did that...well you'd basically commit social suicide and be blacklisted from just about everything.
