Susan from MD | 11 comments I finished this book very quickly - I first read it about 30 years ago, so it was nice to revisit it. The descriptions were wonderful, though graphic in some places! It was a great way to end the book, I think. Buck really was not a pet or even a working dog any more so having his freedom was a logical conclusion.

Renee M | 803 comments Hilariously, I was under the impression that I'd "just missed" reading this with the group. Time us such a tricksy thing. Well, it has been on my list for a reread since it came up here so many months ago. I've finally gotten around to it and can heartily recommend Librivox Version 3, read by Mark F. Smith. It was delightful to listen to Buck's story from the safe comfort of my cozy home while gazing at the last of the winter snow.
