Everyone should now be done reading The Watchmaker of Filigree Street! It's time to discuss that ending! Here are some questions to get you started--

1) What future do you foresee for Mori and Thaniel?

2) What future do you imagine for Grace?

3) Was Grace's plot using Katsu clever or ill-advised? What did you think of her actions?

4) In the final section, it's revealed that Mori planned for years to come to England specifically to meet Thaniel. Do you think his various machinations were worth it?

5) What do you most hope happens in the sequel?

6)And finally-- have you ordered (UK)/pre-ordered (US) the prequel, THE BEDLAM STACKS, yet?

Nicole Jarvis | 7 comments 1) Adorable domesticity while making a new clockwork octopus and raising Six.
2) I'm a big Matsumoto/Grace shipper, and I want him to finally succeed in sweeping her off her feet and chipping through to the romantic buried deep inside her.
3) Technically clever (if difficult as a reader to follow.) She overreacted to everything on an extreme level, and should have realized earlier on that if Mori wanted her dead, she'd have been dead long ago.
4) It's not like he CREATED Clan na Gael. He just allowed some bad things to happen so that he could find happiness. He's not Superman. I think a little selfishness was well-deserved.
5) I need Katsu to be rebuilt, more romance, and some good Six & Thaniel bonding.
6) I've got my copy and it's beautiful.

Shae (shaelit) | 7 comments 1) They are going to have their hands full with Six. Thaniel is going to be delightfully exasperated at all times.

2) GRACE/MATSUMOTO 4LYFE. Seriously, though. That end scene? Yes. Lots of jacket-borrowing and experiments for all.

3) I thought it was extremely clever. And like Nicole, I think she overreacted some, but it made sense to me. Every time she made a choice for herself, she was trapped AGAIN. By her dad, by society, by her mother, by Thaniel, by Mori. If I were living that kind of life as the kind of person Grace is and then thought a nearly all-seeing sociopath saw me as competition, I might overreact too.

4) Yes.

5) More Katsu! More Six! Happily ever afters for all! Also, some good health for Dolly and Ito, because I like them.

6) Yup. Hashtag work perks.
