**spoilers** A woman moves back home after her husband is killed in a car accident. The woman is also injured in the car accident ( she suffered burns from the accident). Back home she lives with her aunt. when she was younger she was saved from drowning by a boy and because of that incident they immediately created a bond in which they able to communicate with each other as if they are in the same room almost like telepathy, she used to call the boy her imaginary friend because she never saw him after the incident.she lives her hometown. But years later when she returns back home after her husband is killed in a car accident. The woman is also injured in the car accident ( she suffered burns from the accident). Back home she lives with her aunt. a couple days of being home the bond between her and the mystery boy is initiated again but this time while they are older.It turns out the person shes been communicating with is her neighbor a well-known artist in town. This neighbor has a crazy past with his dad or step-dad. the dad tries to attack her once in the garage i think. I read this book in 2013, i don't remember how the cover looked like but i remember a girl in white almost opaque see-through dress.

Angelique--Could you expand a bit on your post? You seem to remember a lot about the book, which is good, but you seem to almost be talking about 2 different books. Is this 1 book or 2 (or 3) books?

This is the first book in the series and this was a paperback novel and no its just one book :)
