Hi Erica, one way to gain views to your tweets is by looking at what hashtags are trending and see if the most popular ones have any relevance to your post, or if you can create a post based on it. For example for me if I see #mancrushmonday I would tweet my book with that as one of the hashtags and typically a lot of those people Wil see your tweet and if interested RT or follow you. Also writer hashtags like #amreading #amwriting etc are popular ones in use for authors always. That will add your tweet to the handle and a reader looking for authors with the #amwriting hashtag may see your tweet, click your profile and learn more about you. Make sure to always have your book buy link pinned to the top of your post so that anyone interested in your book doesn't have to dig for a link. People's attention spans are super short and if it's not right in their faces, they may click away and search for another author. Just a few tips I use when I have time to tweet.
Ur welcome. I'm currently setting up an automated system to tweet and post consistently without me having to do much. They used to be free a few years ago so have to find a new freebie.
This video was just shared with me. It has some tips for Twitter and I thought some people here might like it as well. :) http://awordwithtraci.com/2-twitter-t...

-Make use of your bio, use all the characters for it and make sure to be clear about what it is you do. Use hashtags and a link in you bio.
-Make use of your background. Its tricky to find the right size but sites like Canva can help.
-Follow people who are in the same genre as you, follow back and are in your audience that you can appeal to.
-Use sites like Hootsuite and Buffer to schedule some of your tweets. Use ManageFlitter to filter and clean up your followers if need be. also use it to find new ones.
-Use the right hashtags. Two hashtags per tweet work best and make sure they go with what your writing about. Also look to see what daily hashtags you can use such as #MondayBlogs, #TuesdayTips, #RecommendationWednesday, #ThursdayThoughts, etc.
*Create your own hashtag to post any news about your works or blog and let people know about it.
-Make use of Twitter Lists. Have a following of people who tweet similar stuff but don't always see their tweets? Put them in a list and you can read, like or RT their content. Follow lists with under 30 people is best otherwise its hard to keep up.
-Take part in Twitter Chats. Its a great way to learn about a topic you write about, share info on, meet new people and get friends and new followers and overall become a part of a community of people just like you.
-Retweet when possible. If you see something you like besides liking it retweet it. If someone retweets something of yours return the favor.
-Don't set up Auto DM for new followers. Its salesy, sleasy and spammy.
-Make use of pinned tweet. Have a book promo you want people to see? New blog post or just something meaningful? Pin it to your tweet page, your allowed one so make it good! People will usually retweet your pinned tweet.
-The longer the tweet the better. Make use of those 140 characters. This --> & becomes your friend & saves space.
-Have fun and don't be all business. Yes you want people to know what you do, to buy your work but be fun and be you. Nobody likes a sales person all the time they like originality and people they can relate to.
What I could use is some suggestions from more experienced Twitter users on what type of things to tweet, how often, how to use hashtags and things you have learned over time.
Also, are there any cool ways to use Twitter for giveaways?
I figure that there are others in this group who may be in the same boat, so I wanted to create this thread. I feel like there was an older thread about hashtags, but I couldn't find it. If someone knows where it may be could you please give me the link? Any personal suggestions or even recommended articles are greatly appreciated! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
