I also have health problems, and have lost weight twice only to gain it back due to that reason. Exercise has been a challenge because I have severe Tachycardia and all kinds of things. But I am going to keep trying because I believe that I am worth it.
Focus on things you can improve to make you feel better about yourself.
I also can relate to the socially awkward part. I am an introvert and an empath, so I hae being in large crowds. I often am afraid that if I allow myself to express myself people might dislike me and make fun of me. It is very hard because I want to be liked so bad.
Perhaps start a list of things you like about yourself. It can be something physical, or it can be something within yourself. Believe me when I say you have things to offer, not only as a friendship, but also as a relationship partner.
