I know! I was trying to wrack my travel-muddled brain to remember some great narrators, but you've read (listened to) them all already. ;D

Karen - I think I stayed up to like 4am to try to finish Mystery Man the first time. I know I sent an email out to my sisters at 3am saying "READ THIS NOW". haha.

Do read it soon then , it's pretty short, wouldn't take much time.

DG, I second Daughter of the Forest (Sevenwaters, #1) by Juliet Marillier . It's really really good. Also, if I remember right, the Dresden Files has a good (I think) narrator. I remember LK and a few other who buddy read that series mention that..

message 208: by D.G. (new)

D.G. | 4477 comments I'll definitely try to read Daughter of the Forest (Sevenwaters, #1) by Juliet Marillier . If fits a couple of my other challenges so I should make it work.

And I'm so glad I got my fantasy groove back. For a while, I didn't feel like reading any. It's weird how us readers get into different moods. Lately I've a lot into contemporary romance so I think I should be able to fit in Mystery Man (Dream Man, #1) by Kristen Ashley too.

Hi Karla!

I would love to buddy read The Ex Games with you! Sometimes the buddy read is done by chatting about it in a buddy read thread and sometimes just by messaging each other. Since Jennifer Echols is the July FAC, I would be happy to set up a thread and if anyone else wants to read it with us they can join in.
I can start it this week if you want or the end of next week. Next Mon-Thurs I won't get any reading done. Whatever is good for you. We can just read it at our own pace and comment when we are both done in the thread.

Nancy H | 1111 comments Hi Kaileigh,
I just finished my first pick, Death of a Mad Hatter (A Hat Shop Mystery, #2) by Jenn McKinlay , and it was excellent.
I have started one of the long ones, The Wheel of Fortune by Susan Howatch , and it will take me a while to finish its 1,000+ pages. It is very good, though, so I am planning to finish it before month's end. I also have three more shorter ones from your list that I have lined up and will probably read here and there when I need a break from the big one.

Thanks for a great list! Hope you are having a good reading month as well!

I just finished my (first) pick The Chief and really enjoyed it. I hadn't read a medieval historical in a long time and this is loosely based on historical Scotland. I was lucky enough to visit there a few years ago and so I found this even more interesting. Solid 4 stars and I've put the next in the series on my TBR! Thanks for the recommendation.

I have The Iron King from the library so hope to get to that before the end of the month.

Second Grave on the Left was sooo good, I can't wait to read the next one, sigh Reyes is uber dreamy. Until There Was You I gave 5 Stars, and I cried like 50% of the book lol but it was Ah-Mazing.
Update Finished The Gamble as well.

message 234: by Christina (new)

Christina (christinaovallsbooks) | 384 comments I finished two picks so far. Styxx (Dark-Hunter, #12) by Sherrilyn Kenyon and Romancing the Duke (Castles Ever After, #1) by Tessa Dare . I liked them both and listened to both in audio. Styxx was the longest book I have listened to, and while it was good, I just think there was probably a little too much detail in it. If you decide to read this one, keep a box of tissues handy.

I liked Romancing the Duke, but for me, I think it was a little predictable. It was a very sweet happily ever after kind of book though.

Thanks for the picks Kait.

message 241: by Aarati (new)

Aarati | 148 comments Hi Grace, I haven't been able to update my reads. So these are what I've already read:

Rock Chick (Rock Chick, #1) by Kristen Ashley - I liked this one. This was a 3.5 starer. I liked this hero a little more than the other two KA heroes I've read; namely Cabe and Knight. Leo was also overbearing, but even grudgingly he gave Indy her space. Leo did irritate me at times. I always need a few days to read KA, because her male characters get on my nerves. That said, this was funny and Indy was an amazing character.

Dime Store Magic (Women of the Otherworld, #3) by Kelley Armstrong - This was also fine. Nothing great. A 3 starer. Honestly there was no romantic development between Paige and Lucas. They did not even acknowledge or even show any attraction for each other. They just had sex when Paige was high on magic.

Tangled (Tangled, #1) by Emma Chase - This was a good one. Quite funny and enjoyable. Drew was an a-hole at times, but still I enjoyed his perseverance.

The Bride (Lairds' Fiancées, #1) by Julie Garwood - This was one amazing book. Highly enjoyable book with great characters. A 4 starer.

Devil in Winter (Wallflowers, #3) by Lisa Kleypas - This was also an amazing book. Uptil now Lisa Kleypas has never disappointed me.

I'll see if I can get some more done by the end of the month. Thanks for the great picks.

Kami (aidansmama) | 988 comments I finished my first pick. Bonds of Justice by Nalini Singh. it was pretty good. it wasn't my favorite couple and romance of this series. I gave it four stars. I will try to fit in at least one more if not two more picks this month.

Yay! I'm glad you've enjoyed your picks. I completely understand about Kristen Ashley. I can only handle so much Kristen Ashley, before I need a break. Her books tend to be a little too similar and her heroes can be over the top. I think her rock chick series does get better as she goes.
