Susanna (ssanna) | 2 comments Hi,
Around 2010 I read a book that I just can't get the title of.

Plot: It starts out with a lone man heading for a distant cottage in wintery America. He has once written a book or essay about a great film maker, whom he then spends most of the book remembering. The film maker and his wife only made one film that was shown to the public. After its success they chose a life in seclusion making film for films sake without even actors. There is a muted love story in the background.

Genre: this is a slow read, drama, more about the athmosphere than about the plot itself. Possibly by a Nobel prize winner (I was in that type of reading period). The book feels 20th century, pre-smartphones.

Anyone?? This has been annoying me for the last five years!! Many thanks.

Susanna (ssanna) | 2 comments Thank you!! That's it! How weird to find that I am currently reading what I thought was my first Paul Auster book (4321). Enjoying this one much more than The Book of Illusions though.
