Q&A with Penny Reid
Who was your one character that was the most complex and really difficult to bring to life? What inspired him/her?
Are you planning on coming to the UK for a book signing anytime soon? I know you're doing Germany and Australia this year. How about next year? Xxx
You mainly write contemporary romances. Are there any other (sub)genres that you would love to write in? If so, which ones?
How did you decided to start your cooperation with L.H. Cosway? Is there any other author you would write with?
What gives you inspiration to write? a person, a song, a movie, a scenery?what is the most challenging thing about writing for you?
This doesn't have anything to do with your books..or writing. Lol!I'm just curious why you have such a fascination with cross stitch? 😂😂😂. I've been to several takeovers you've been in and you always want a crossstitch meme. 😂😂😂😂
As a new reader to your books, please let me know which book or series would be a great start? I like the humorous spin shown in the Winston Brothers. Would these books be a good start?
What's your writing schedule like? Do you set aside specific time on specific days, or just write whenever you have time?
My question is: what do I have to do to get my hands on Beard in Mind before the release date? :p On a more serious note... I know you were afraid people wouldn't like Dating-ish because it was so weird (your words, definitely not mine cause I think is one of your best books and one of my favs) and have said something similar about Beard in Mind. Besides these occasions when you questioned how the readers would react, was there any book you dreaded writing or a story that you haven't got around writing for some reason?
Sharky hugs!

I'll be at the London RARE event February 24th 2018. You can buy tickets here https://www.eventbrite.com/e/rare18-l... Come watch me be a weirdo!
Betul wrote: "You mainly write contemporary romances. Are there any other (sub)genres that you would love to write in? If so, which ones?"I would love to write an epic fantasy. I'm a nerd that way.
how long does it take you for writing a book? you make a lot of research for each one it's impressive!
Do you prefer vegetables or fruits? How do you prevent yourself from being too inspired by other people when you're writing? :)
Your books are known for having smart characters, which book or which character did you have to research the most for?
Who has been your favorite character to write? How do you prepare to begin writing and do you have a favorite spot to write?
Aɤɩ wrote: "Who was your one character that was the most complex and really difficult to bring to life? What inspired him/her?"Shelly Sullivan. I struggled to write from her perspective because I didn't enjoy being in her head. She is the heroine of Beard in Mind so I can't give too much away. She is based off of people from my own life and even a bit off of myself. I think I struggled with her because she hit a little too close to home!
Cammie wrote: "favve romcom movie? =) so good to meet you in Berlin at RARE :D"It was lovely to meet you too! Sorry if I was weird I was running on zero sleep that day o.O My favorite romcom movie is Sixteen Candles <3
Sophie wrote: "How did you decided to start your cooperation with L.H. Cosway? Is there any other author you would write with?"We met at an author signing in Tulsa. I'd read Painted Faces and basically forced her to be my friend and thus the Rugby series was BORN! I don't know that I have room for another work wife in my life ;-)
Luana wrote: "Where does your inspiration come from? (dreams, people around you...)"A lot of my inspiration comes from my weird brain and Mr. Reid. I definitely pull from people I've met in real life as well.
Marsha wrote: "Which of the series (or book) did you learn the most from while researching/writing?"I would say Dating-ish. I researched Artificial Intelligence, professional cuddlers, orgasm meditation, and online dating. I know more about these things now than any individual probably needs to LOL.
