I can completely understand that. I was scared to go online at my job too until I found out that the guy I was replacing (who was leaving because he was moving) talked about getting on Facebook when it was slow. This site is about the only thing I do on the internet at work that's personal though. I don't get on Facebook, I rarely get on my personal email, and I definitely do not get on Pinterest. That would definitely raise a red flag if they ever checked it.

Probably shouldn't admit this where anyone can read it, but I rarely work at work. I added up the actual number of hours a few years ago and it's less than half of what I'm paid for. The rest of the time is spent waiting to see if something (severe weather and that sort) happens that we need to go on air for.

Good luck Nicole! They probably are cracking down on it. I read an article not too long ago that talks about the rise in internet usage at work for personal stuff. However, with the technology capabilities of blocking websites that are available, you'd think if they were really serious about it, they'd have something in place. At my old job, they blocked anything that had to do with online gambling, some gaming stuff, porn, of course, and some other really random stuff that blocked perfectly fine websites. It cracked me up sometimes what category a blocked website would fall under.

10 hours? Is that four days a week? I would totally jump on that if I had the option. :)
It sucks that I have the time to get on here during work hours though. I feel like I'm at my old job, just with different duties. In the beginning, I was busy with training, then when my predecessor left, I was busy making everything my own and organizing the shit out of the office and files. But now that all of that is under control......this job could really be a part time job. I see how my predecessor was able to only work until 2:30 every day and still get everything done. :/

LOL, we won't tell Nicole. :) You're reminding me of one of my favorite movies - Office Space. "I'd say in any given week, I do about 15 minutes of solid work." That's how I felt at my old job and it's starting to feel that way here too.

Ok, well, maybe not all 40, but most of it at least. It makes the day go by a hell of a lot faster. The point where I'm at riht now, I think, I know, I work 20 hours, if that, to be honest. :/
That's crazy that they blocked the website of a sponsor. There has to be a way to exclude certain sites from filters. I wonder if the sponsor would still be a sponsor if they knew their site was blocked. :)

Stacy,
I live 45 minutes to an hour away from work. I spend 2 hours commuting and then 8 hours working. I am currently on my 4 day work week. My job is odd because our week starts on a Saturday. So next week I will work Monday through Saturday. So it leaves very little time to Facebook, twitter, or email once home.

Oh, I see. Wow, kudos to you on your commute. I refuse to work someplace that it takes me more than 20 minutes to get to. :) I know commuting works well for some people though because it gives them time to decompress from their day. But for people like me that just want to get home and get there as quickly as possible, that would only wind me up further. I'm a road rager, but only to the point of getting really irritated with other people and cursing at them from the safety of my vehicle, while trying to not make it look like I'm cursing at them, lol. I had that long commute (about an hour, give or take 5-10 minutes) years and years ago, and that's probably why I am the way I am now. LOL

The book and movie were both recommended to me by a friend. I really enjoyed both but I think I like the book just a little more. It gives you more insight on the characters.

I had a job that was closer to home maybe 15-20 minutes away. I always tell people it is one of the biggest ironies because it was one of the worst paying jobs I ever had. Where I am in Georgia you don't want to work in this county because you won't make enough to live on. So I almost always end up working 30-45 minutes away.

Wow, that really sucks. I would be looking for ways to move out of that county. :) Believe me, I can't stand Michigan, if I could move, I totally would.

This one is a hard one to choose a cast but I'd definitely want Betty White for Aunt Shirley. I'll have to think about the rest and edit this post when I come up with a good list.
