Kenzie | 2838 comments Kind of sounds like a James Patterson novel. Did you post any of it? The mutants and stuff I mean. Reminds me of Maximum Ride.

message 52: by [deleted user] (new)

yeah ive posted some of it

message 53: by [deleted user] (new)

it reminds me of maximum ride too, but my original idea came from this game that my cousins and i play.

message 54: by Kenzie (new)

Kenzie | 2838 comments Interesting. What's the game? I'll have to check out your story.

message 63: by Kenzie (new)

Kenzie | 2838 comments Thanks for reading it. It's my first first person narrative, so I'd really like to know if it sounds bad.

message 72: by Kenzie (new)

Kenzie | 2838 comments To write or to read? Watch? Huh? I'm confuzzled.

message 73: by [deleted user] (new)

Well, in my story I need to summarize some sort of batman story, and i can't think of anything.

message 74: by Kenzie (new)

Kenzie | 2838 comments Oh, I've only seen the Batman movie once, and I don't really remember it...

I HAVE AN IDEA
You can get a bunch of your ideas for what happens and arrange them. Maybe try mixing them up like in scrabble, and see if inspiration strikes!

Tate | 106 comments Ooh, awesome!

message 85: by [deleted user] (new)

okay, so I'm totally past my writers block now, I've finished my book, I am so happy I want to cry!!

message 86: by Sella, ov vey! i haven't checked this group in months. >< (new)

Sella Malin | 4530 comments Mod
you finished it! wow, congrats! how many pages?

message 87: by [deleted user] (new)

Well, on Microsoft Word, it's um . . . 171.

message 88: by [deleted user] (new)

And about 377,746 characters.

message 89: by Kenzie (new)

Kenzie | 2838 comments You guys all write longer stories than mine. Do you double space your writing, or single space it?

message 90: by [deleted user] (new)

Sheesh, mine's not double spaced, and it's at 12 for the size, I even had to make the margin wider. It was so long.

message 91: by Kenzie (new)

Kenzie | 2838 comments Wow, I don't double space mine either. I heard something somewhere, though, that when you send it in you're supposed to have it all double spaced.
I fooled around with font changes and stuff, and very few of them shorten your story. If you start off writing in Times New Roman, that is.
What font do you use? I really enjoy writing in Times New Roman, but sometimes I'd like to change up.

message 92: by [deleted user] (new)

Times New Roman.

message 93: by Kenzie (new)

Kenzie | 2838 comments Have you ever written in Arial? That's my second favorite. It's got a distinctive look that I like.

message 94: by Sella, ov vey! i haven't checked this group in months. >< (new)

Sella Malin | 4530 comments Mod
Usually when I start a story, I write in times new roman. If I finish the story or i'm pretty far, I sometimes like to change the font to a nice one...which font i use, that depends on the story...i feel like each of my stories has a different "tone" that will fit different fonts. So i wouldn't use the same font for two of my stories (if i decide to change it from times new roman.)

message 95: by Kenzie (new)

Kenzie | 2838 comments That's cool, Sella. I never really thought of the writing style giving it tone, but I guess it does.

Xerxes Break(Vivian Ephona) (ephona) I used to do that...I just haven't finished any stories lately XD

message 97: by [deleted user] (new)

I like Arial.
But I haven't really given any thought into font type.

message 98: by Kenzie (new)

Kenzie | 2838 comments When I can't think of anything new to put into my story I amuse myself by fiddling with the font.

message 99: by [deleted user] (new)

Funny, I should probably think about the font stuff.

message 100: by Sella, ov vey! i haven't checked this group in months. >< (new)

Sella Malin | 4530 comments Mod
Lol...yeah, I'll just give you some examples...for my story Outcast, it has a sort of fancy feel to it, for some reason...so I use a font called "sylfaen" which is sort of elegant. then, for my finished story The Morte, it's a creepy/scary ghost/horror story, so I use a font that's sort of unnerving, "traditional arabic." Then for my story "happily ever after," it's a parody of fairy tales, so I use a curly font that seems to flow at the same time looks a bit playful- "georgia."
