Après La Rafle
This is the memoir of a Jewish boy and what happened to him during WWII, after his whole family was arrested and sent to the Vel d'Hiv. It's a must read (if you can read French!)

Maggie: A Girl of the Streets
65.

The Pearl
I absolutely loved it. Definitely one of my favourites this year.
The Pearl seems to have been really popular this year, Camisole! There's been a lot of talk about it in the group!

Wide Sargasso Sea
I found it was a nice story and I like the link with Jane Eyre. However, it can be read on its own, I think. I especially liked the atmosphere of it.
67.

Laura Ingalls Wilder: A Writer's Life
I'm a Laura Ingalls Wilder lover, so anything related is interesting to me!
68.

The Unknown Unknown: Bookshops and the Delight of Not Getting What You Wanted
I loved this little essay, definitely recommended to any book lover!
69.

Tisha: The Wonderful True Love Story of a Young Teacher in the Alaskan Wilderness
I finished it well into the night as couldn't stop reading!

Norwegian Wood
I have to admit I really did not enjoy this book...
71.

Pattern of Shadows
An OK read.

74.

I have decided to read the whole series - I had only ever read the first one. In the middle of the third one at the moment.

Oranges and Sunshine: Empty Cradles
I read this in a day I was so engrossed in it. I even cried several times, which rarely ever happens when I'm reading. I just loved it.

The Last Runaway
Another excellent read for me.
Quaker meets Underground Railway. I couldn't pass on it!

The Siege
A historical novel set during the siege of Leningrad is always a win for me. I really disliked the writing style, which spoiled the whole thing for me, unfortunately.

86. Anne's House of Dreams
That brings my total for the year at 86. Given that originally I had intended to read 36 books, we can say that this year was a success reading wise :-) !
