"We live in a world where the importance of stability is drilled into us from an early age. If it's not explicitly stated, then it is sen in the way most of our parents, other elders, or authority figures live their lives: cautiously, pragmatically, and sensibly... The potential risk of failure scream its warning from far away, which is why those with experience feel it is necessary to tell us to find 'proper jobs' – the kind that pay well and guarantee long-term security (lawyer, doctor, teacher)."

As a child, Franta proclaimed on a school assignment that he would like to be a doctor like his dad. But as he grew up, he realized that preferred a more creative vocation, seen more recently in the photography and design work he currently does. In a chapter dedicated to a discussion about creativity, we find the above quote about professional stability.

How do you react to his statements about modern day stability? Do you agree? Would you consider yourself in the realm of stability or, like Connor, are you willing to take the risk of the non-stable way of life?
