I’m going to second that, Matthew.
If anyone watched The Great American Read on PBS, it came in, in the top 25. I definitely think it should have been a Top 5. It’s a very long book but don’t let that discourage you. It’s fantastic!!

that it is Chris , this is my second time around reading the complete and extended cut ( the way king intended it to be ) ive recently purchased the original cut for my king collection but I don't think I can read it knowing that there's a goo 500 or so pages cut out

OK, I confess I read the original version the year it was first published. The unabridged version has sat on my bookshelf since its publication. I know I have to read that version but my To Read list is wicked long.

To complete a couple of my personal book reading challenges for 2018, I'm doing Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows in audio. (That will finish the series for me.) And the next to last book in the Narnia series, The Silver Chair in paperback.

With the year almost done, I'm hoping my Man Booker group decides on True History of the Kelly Gang for our November read. I have so many on my TBR, and a boatload of books around here, I won't know what to plunge into next. Perhaps a comedy.

I'd also like to know what the 24in28 readathon is exactly?

It comes down to reading for 24 hours in 48 hours. So the readathon starts on saturday January 18th at 8:00 AM CET and ends on Monday January 20th at 8:00 AM. Within those 48 hours you try and read as much as you can, trying to reach 24 hours. I’ll be holding 3-hourly check-ins and some sprints.

I'm finishing the trilogy from Stephen King that ends with End of Watch. Today I began reading on audio (finally...it was on hold a long time) Slaughterhouse-Five.
