The Eleventh Plague
question
READING SLUMPS!!! How do I get out?

I need help!!! I'm in my first major reading slump. I finished the book The Eleventh Plague almost two weeks ago and I haven't been able to pick anything up since. I read an average of 13-17 books a month and I am around 5 right now. I am 100 pages into another book that I'm loving, but I can't bring myself to read it and when I do I'm reading just to get through it. It's not that I don't like it I just am burnt out on reading. How do I get myself to my normal reading pace?

i feel like i get like that sometimes - i've been on a book every 2 days kind of binge lately and it got a little stuck after a while. what i found to be rally helpful is to read 'novellas' from a series - instead of a long 300+ page book - that gets me motivated again.
what i find to be my biggest problem is that i get about 100 pages in and then i get side tracked for a day or 2 and it's really hard to pick up again. so...if you're only reading a novella or a #.5 of a series - then you get through it faster and jolt yourself back into shape since they are usually 100 pages max.

Thanks for the advice! I'm going to try picking up a short book right now!
You could try re-reading something you already know that you love. I find that the Harry Potter series is a good bunch for me to pick back up when I don't know what else to read. It helps because I can skip past the parts I don't like that much since I've already read them several times!
Somebody please help me!! I have been recently been reading an amazing book that is amazing that I just do not have any motivation to read!! This is my first reading slump ever!! And I really need to get out of it!!
