Moloch | 3975 comments Since a lot of authors keep mistakenly posting requests for moving books from their profiles in the "Please delete this book" thread, would it be useful (for them and for the superlibrarians who monitor that thread) to create another sticky thread in the "Book Issues" folder named "This book is not mine, please move it" or similar for such requests?

That sounds a really good idea!

Elizabeth (Alaska) Not sure those authors will read the instructions, since they don't in the wrong thread, but it couldn't hurt.

If y'all can agree on a name for it, I'm happy to create and sticky it.

If it is stickied so it is the first thing they see they might.

Sandra | 31477 comments I like Moloch's suggested name - This book is not mine, please move it

Great idea!

For me it's not about instructions reading but (mis)understanding of the word "delete" - for them it's kind of deletion if a book vanishes from profile ... and if you click just on a red "new" instead of the thread title you go directly to the end of the thread and can post wihtout seeing post #1 (and most likely they believe they are in the correct thread)
- although I hate it if you don't read #1 in a thread -

+1 for moloch's suggestion, sounds simple and should be understandable .. hopefully clear enough to make the difference to the real deletion thread.
But we'll see...

That's 3 votes for "This book is not mine, please move it".

Any other suggestions?

lethe | 16359 comments Or something like "Please move book from my profile".

Emy (emypt) | 5037 comments Fourth vote for: "This book is not mine, please move it"

☕ Lachgas ♿ (lachgas) | 9386 comments A additional [include link] or sth similar is probably too long I assume? (With hope it would be done then...they won't read a first post I fear...)

"This book is not mine, please move it from my profile" should be clear enough

There having been 4 votes for "This book is not mine, please move it" and no more than 1 vote for any other suggestion, the motion carries. https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

Yes, I would have liked to have "from my profile" included.
