Thanks Bookbuyer... the first half of the book though interesting.. it's difficult to read more than a couple of chapters at a time... it's slow going... but it does pick up in the second half... so patience will be needed :D

RainySun....I haven't started the book yet....I'm on the last book of Riyria and emotions are running really high right now...I think I'll start this a few days later :)

I actually still haven't started yet, I got myself into 3 buddy reads this week, so I wouldn't mind delaying it another week. around 14 or 15 would be great

@Bookbuyer....I thought this thread was for the whole series. I don't think we need a separate one for the second book unless it has something to do with proper organising in the group in which case obviously you should go ahead with what you think is best :)

Haha true... There's been a time gap... However I think we can keep going with this thread... Unless RainySun has a problem with itOh and can you move the Riyria Revelations thread into "series" buddy read? It just occurred to me when you mentioned this one :)

Ya too bad I'm not familiar with the different types of Grisha and their powers...so when they mention a "type"... I'm like...wait...what does this type of Grisha do?
Ya same here.... I know, or at least that's what I understood, there are three main groups, and then different types within, because I keep hearing all these different types (mainly 4 though, which is what confuses me, because it did say there are three main groups of Grisha)... some I've gotten a good idea of what they can do but I'm not entirely sure.
Corporalki: Their power focuses on the human body. The order is divided into two types: Heartrenders, Their ability allows them to manipulate the body of another person to damage it, and Healers, possess powers capable of healing wounds and injuries..... and apparently Tailors as well Etherealki: The order is divided into three types: Squallers, who can control pressure and movement of the air, Inferni, who can generate and control fire using a flint, and Tidemakers, who can summon and control water.
Materialki (Order of Fabrikators): Power focuses on materials. The order is divided into two types: Alkemi, specialize in poisons and blasting powders, and Durasts, deal with solid: Grisha steel, corecloth, textiles and glass
Did some research and thats what I got.... The Grisha series definitely would have helped with knwing these 😅 Im only on Chapter 8, so far so good!

I keep hearing from the others that the Grisha trilogy isn't as good as these books... which makes sense I guess... those were her debut novels... her writing is fantastic in this book. I'm loving every minute of crooked kingdom

I just realised that I forgot to post here.... I've kept notes and made some progress on the book... I'll post in a while and also reply to your spoilers. Maybe I was in chapter 25.. Again I'll have to check
