Peter | 36 comments I joined Goodreads a couple of years ago after a friend was telling me how many books he reads per year, and how many in his whole life. He was getting his numbers from Goodreads.

I realised I had no idea, so I looked up my library borrowings online and entered those (only go back a few years). Then racked my brains for ages to think of any others. I managed to come up with just 240 or so, which was a bit disappointing at age 50. I used to read a lot when I was young, so it should be higher. After that, I read a lot of technical books, and I rarely add those to the list because I would normally only read a page or a chapter.

Apart from not knowing the true total, I'd love to look back through the list, especially from my school years.

I'm just wondering how many of you keep records of your reading, and how far back your records go. Did any of you go through the same process of trying to remember books you read decades ago?

Ryan I joined in late 2014 and wrote reviews back to 2013 I think. I went through a similar process of brain racking for past reads. I have mostly read non fiction but I prefer not to record it on Goodreads to avoid virtue signalling.
