Yes, exactly. It's been neat to get away, Sheila.

Abigail Bok (regency_reader) You should definitely take it in if life ever takes you to the Lake District! Miniature maps hidden inside pencils and issued to the British troops dropping from planes into occupied France during the World Wars! Who knew?

Amazing bit of WWII knowledge. I can see why you found the museum and stories like this captivating.

Erika (eureeka75) | 37 comments Sara, you had a great, yet hard, list to choose from. But I would love to hear what your thoughts are on The Courtship of Edward Gardiner. I haven't read it yet, but the Gardiners tend to be one of my favorite couples in JAFF. Enjoy your reading and I can't wait for your review.

Thanks Erika, I've been so curious about that book but reluctant to choose it since it's not D & E but i do love those characters. This is the push I've been needing to read it. :)

Teresa | 313 comments You'll enjoy it Erika. It was a great read. I love the Gardiners so it was lovely to read about how they met.

message 60: by J. W. (new)

J. W. Garrett (jeannewallacegarrett) | 1166 comments I loved Courtship... I loved seeing how the Gardiners met and how their relationship with the young Lizzy, and Jane was established and how Darcy and Bingley met their future wives. Yeah, our dear couple is there, but oh so cute. Delightful.

Thanks for choosing that one for me, Patricia. I loved The Gypsy Blessing so much, so it's more than time I got around to reading the sequel.

Victoria Thanks Sara! I snagged that one at a used book store a couple of years ago so I'm glad to take it off my TBR pile!

Kirk, for you I've picked "North by Northanger by Carrie Bebris" because I love the series and am a bit biased. Have you read the first two?

Thank you Victoria! I enjoyed the book... I only wish Mrs Catherine Tilney had made an appearance!!!! Cheers!

J. W. Garrett (jeannewallacegarrett) | 1166 comments Kirk, thanks for the August pick for me. I've finished the Meryton Matchmakers Series. There were 5-books in all. Whew! Two were very short so it wasn't too bad. It felt like there was a book missing though. I don't know what happened to several of the characters. Dang! Thanks again for the pick. That helped clean out part of my TBR pile.

Victoria I finished my August read (thanks Sara!), it wasn't as good as the last few "SOEPIFM" choices, but I'm so glad to have finally read it.

My review of Vanity and Vexation is here.

Thanks so much for choosing this for me, Patricia. I finished it just last night and have thoroughly enjoyed it. Love the connection between the Regency and modern Darcy and Elizabeth.
