Talk about an acronym overload I hope its not like this all the way through.

20 Chapters in and this book is not good on audio I doubt it would be any better on paper. (view spoiler)[ There is very little in the way of world building the main character thinks a hell of a lot of herself. There are loads of battles that Tanis always wins but she has no real idea of who it is that is attacking them. There seems to be 2 different groups attacking 1 to damage the ship which was going on from the start but now we have a second group who want to take Tanis out, because she is so damed good LMOA. OH NO we have just had romance thrown in and its not even good romance. (hide spoiler)]

Finished I really struggled to get into this book I know a lot of people love it but there are a lot better sci fi books out there than this. I guess if you are into American Military language you would love it but the use of so may acronyms spoilt this book for me.

I just started last night. fingers crossed I enjoy it, as its.one of the boyfriends favorites and he's been pushing me to read it for months now!

Hope you love it. I really wanted to but sadly no. I would be interested to know if he has read the rest, does the author stop with so many acronyms or at least do the books come with explanations of what each one means. I read mine on audio and it was impossible to know who was who or what was what. At one stage she talks about a BLT and I know thats an American sandwich but that was not what she was referring to in the book. At least I don't think she was lol

I'm about 45% through; I'm finding I don't have AS MANY issues with the acronyms, maybe because the boyfriend is super into space stuff and I've picked up on some things? but I just sort of ignore the ones I don't know and they don't seem to make a whole lot of difference so far.

I promise I didn't forget about this, lol! I just haven't been reading a lot lately apparently. Hoping to get a bit further today though, as I'm off work!
