A lot of people died in this story. Was it too much or consistent with the plot and story arc? Who were you the most upset about dying?

Anita (anitanodiva) | 849 comments A lot of people always die in a Karen Rose book. The kid, Jeremy's son. Wrong place, wrong time. That was so sad.

Jeremy's son, Mickey (Mikhail) bothered me, too. I also hated that the grandmother who was leaving the hospital after seeing her new baby grandchild was murdered, too. That was particularly vicious.

I've just come to terms with her high body counts:)

Anita (anitanodiva) | 849 comments Collateral damage. I forgot about her.

Charlene (charlenethestickler) | 1392 comments I was sorry that Roza's mother was allowed to die/starve to death. I don't know why the author let Jade off the hook so completely. How did she know that her niece was alive? etc., etc....

I felt badly about those you mentioned above, plus the woman who bought the car in Florida and the other(s) who died in that accident.

I find it interesting that the author can evoke such empathy for characters we've not met and don't know beyond the few sentences devoted to them.

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 242 comments There are a lot of murders in this story. Like the rest of the group, Mickey bothered me the most. I didn't like that one at all. I'm not sure why Rose has to have such a high body count in her books. It didn't turn me off the story though.
