In a discussion about artists becoming crippled under their own fame and reputation Gilbert brings up the question: What if certain famed artists and writers kept working after creating their most famous piece?
i.e. What if Harper Lee kept writing after To Kill a Mockingbird? What could she have created? Same with Ellison, F. Scott Fitzgerald, and more who ever vanished beneath the shadow of their reputation.
What do you think about this? How does it make you feel knowing that your favorite creator could have continued making great works of art had they not achieved such fame? Anyone you wish/hope could make more of their chosen medium?
