Help! I need the name of an author!

He wrote this book 5-10 years ago. It was his debut. It was the start of a proposed trilogy.
It took place in the present United States. It was about a group of people who were at war with another group of people. The catch was, you didn't know who you were fighting or why. The two main characters from opposite sides fall in love. It was in the vein of a Jeff Abbot or Lee Child novel. I'd like to read the next two, if they ever came out.
