I was thinking of doing a decades challenge instead, I'm game to do an alphabet one again...

I don't want to do a challenge that would affect Nancy's. She has a different each second month and it's been providing lots of variety. I'm thinking either continuing with the Alphabetical challenge or trying a Decades kind of challenge.. Maybe I'll put up a poll in 2019 as it won't start until the February group challenge. I am open to other suggestions... Thanks for the idea Carolyn, maybe a group thread might also be a good idea to see what people think...

Don't worry about me. I'll get along just fine and there are plenty of ideas in my head. If you want to take a vote, maybe do it on Bill's ideas for months that aren't mine?

Yes Nancy I only meant the alternate months like now. I like the way the themed months work at the moment, I only raised the subject because I wanted things to carry on the same way they are. 🙂

ok, thanks.

Bill Hi everybody. It's almost 2021 and I have a question for you. For the past year (ish) I've been setting the alternate group read challenge, that being the Decades Challenge. I'll be setting up the February challenge in the next day or so; books written between 2010 and 2021.

My problem is what do I replace this challenge with? I can start all over again for April 2021 if you enjoyed this particular challenge. I could go back to the alphabetical challenge? We could do a 50 state challenge, although that might be somewhat difficult.....

Can you think about it please and let me know your thoughts?

Nancy has provided a nice variety of group read challenges for the alternate months and I'm sure she'll continue to do so in 2021.

Anyway, please give me your thoughts and let me wish every member of the group a very Happy New Year and the very best for 2021.

Wayne Jordaan | 71 comments Hi, good evening from South Africa. I do not know whether this is the right spot to check about the Currently Reading books. The two that are on the notice board were for the month of February. Will there be books for April? I read quite a bit and belong to a number of groups, so do not always get to read the books in the feature months, but do try to access a copy which I then read later. Thanks

Hi, Wayne.

Under Group Read Discussions you'll find threads for Stillwatch by Mary Higgins Clark and for The Underground Man by Ross Macdonald. Those are the April group reads.

Also, Nancy has been leading a new buddy read topic,
Reading the Movies. Those discussions have been happening under
Buddy Reads.

That is my fault and soon as I'm home from vacation I'll fix that. I got so used to Bill (who was moderator prior to Randy ) taking care of changing the "currently reading" books I've totally spaced doing that. Sorry for the confusion.

Wayne Jordaan | 71 comments Thanks Randy. Actually saw a copy of Stillwatch today in the library, will grab it next time, It would be great if somebody can change the Currently Reading space.

James Hansen (scaremeplease) | 1 comments Hello My name is James Hansen and I just finished and published my first thrilling short story. It’s called “Dark Dinner” and I would love to have the group read it.
