ABANDONED. Book with several stories about animals rescuing humans

The book im looking for is one I read when I was In second grade. I remember it being a smaller book made for young kinds, and in it was several stories about kids being rescued by animals in some way. One story included a girl getting trapped in a blizzard in New York and a dog finding her and keeping her warm. Another was a girl falling into a mound of fire ants, and im pretty sure another story was about a girl trapped in a fire. So all I really remember is it was a smaller book with several of these type stories, and the stories I know for certain were there were the blizzard and fire ant ones. Please help me find this book! I'd love to read it again.
