Chelsea | 562 comments I liked that she did a typical sterilization story vs one that was pretty horrific (like dad molesting daughter one!). Made my eyes open to what "normal" meant to them, and still how wrong it was.

It was over 2 hours long and I only got a chance to watch the first guy (lots of formalization stuff at the beginning.) I want to watch more though. The first guy was 14 when he was sterilized, and later got married but could never have kids. Sad.

Darlene I liked how she made this story a story about a family and wove into it the sterilization issue. She educated me about society and issues of the times. I appreciated how sterilization was not the major theme of the book, but a subtopic..... much of how life was at the time.

I''m coincidentally reading a book about a father that seriously raped, harmed, hurt and molested his daughter. It is very sad to have that kind of foundation of which she was raised. She was only 8 years old. Affected me a lot. Sterilization could have saved that family, and protected a little girl that was affected by this treatment all her life - with bad nightmares, training and so forth. There is overlap with these and I hope they can make it work.
