If people thought that Tiffany was the type of girl who spent her free time shopping in malls or engaging in gossipy talks, it could only be assumed that they had never, not even once, talked with her before. Because when she met a person, the first thing she would ask was “Do you play video games?” If the answer was yes, then a person was guaranteed a seat in her circle of friends. If no, a somehow crestfallen look would settle upon her face, and probably followed by a nagging that video games were awesome and that you should try it at least once.
It wasn't that she was totally obsessed; she just enjoyed the fascinating worlds created within the game. The creativity. Imagination. The things that she wished to see in the real world. Well, not the monsters, but the Kingdoms and flying creatures and magic. Or the hover-vehicles and laser guns and transportation tubes. Cities under the sea. Cities high up in the sky. She would give everything to live in a world like that.
Tiffany was snapped out of her fantasies at the blaring noise that could only be the bell. Dismissal time. After clearing her desk of her stuffs, she rose to her feet and inserted herself in the throng of students exiting the classroom. Once out in the hallways, she stood on her tiptoes, trying to spot a particular dark-haired guy that many thought to be her boyfriend. In reality, they were best buddies that liked to kill each other in versus games.
She was about to speed-dial him when she felt a tug on her hair. Tiffany whirled and came face-to-face with Chester. “Are we grabbing snacks first or play games?” he asked.
Tiffany pretended to think for a moment, and then replied “How about we play games first and then whoever loses treats the other?” A playful smile graced her lips.
“Sounds like a good plan to me,” Chester said, pleased.
Tiffany almost bounced on her feet. She led the way towards the parking area and climbed into Chester's white convertible.

When Chester was first introduced to Tiffany, his first impression of her was that she was just another famewhore who grabbed every opportunity to draw attention to herself. He couldn't have been more wrong, though, because as it turned out, Tiffany never asked for the spotlight, but unfortunately, it always found her.
To this day, Chester still refused to believe that his best friend was a girl. He deemed girls to be annoying, whiny; they fished for compliments, were hopeless romantics. So he seriously never imagined that he could get along this well with a girl. And it's all because of video games.
Not once had he encountered a girl that was as addicted to playing as Tiffany was. And so before long, he found himself in a conversation with her, their topics revolving around the best game consoles to date or which one had the best gameplay. Which character was most useful. What types of weapons were most advantageous. And so on and so forth.
“Which one are we gonna play this time?” Tiffany asked, eyes focused on her phone as she solved the 2048 puzzle.
“I dunno. Heard there's a new one called Elysium.”
“The movie? Matt Damon?” Her attention was still on her phone as Chester veered to the right, immediately finding an empty spot near the building's entrance.
“Nope. Fantasy, I think.”
Normally Tiffany would be so eager to learn of this new game, but she was so immersed in her game at the moment that she could only respond with an “Ahhhh”. She didn't even notice they were at Eutopia already; the gaming center they frequented.
Chester unbuckled his seat belt and said to the still clueless Tiffany, “Coming or not?” Tiffany pried his eyes off of her screen and realization dawned on her face. “Oh” was what she could come up with, followed by a sheepish smile. She unbuckled herself and got out of the car.
Eutopia was the biggest gaming center in their small town. It was each gamer's haven; their escape from the real world. More than a hundred computers lit up the dark room that seemed like a vast cavern. Players throwing off curses and threats to one another. At times brawls happened, resulting in a kick-out. The first level of Eutopia was a warzone, to say the least. Chester and Tiffany were headed somewhere else: the more peaceful part of the building.
The second level was only for those with membership card. Both of them availed theirs three months ago. Cards were a bit expensive, but the benefits of having one were gold and they just couldn't pass it up.
Chester presented their cards at the counterperson. After swiping it, she informed them about the new game called Elysium. “It is an MMORPG. One of the newly released and it's already hot in the market. We have five rooms for this game and only one isn't full. One room is for six persons, but you can start even without waiting for the others. You can all meet inside the game. Currently the last room still has five free seats.”
Curiosity won them over. Soon they were entering another dark room at the end of the hallway. To their surprise, no LED TVs were planted on the walls. Instead, five sets of Oculus Rift — one was being used — sat on top of each player's table.
Chester approached one and carefully touched it. “Is this the latest edition?” The assistant nodded with a smile on her face.
“Oh my god, Elysium is virtual-reality?” Chester heard Tiffany ask. He could only assume the assistant nodded again in response.
Chester positioned himself comfortably on the fluffy egg chair and said “This is gonna be fun” as he slid his head into the console.
[[ hey, i wanna start it so i already posted without waiting for you. sorry! and i swear i never meant it to be this long. it's just that introductions. you know ^^ make your twinnies enter the same room so they meet in the game, okay? don't rush your replies, btw. i'm in no hurry~ ]]

Her best friend was probably her twin brother, Ethan. They had been through everything together, and knew each other more than they knew themselves. Some may call it a sort of twin-connection-thing and maybe that was true, but all she knew was that he was the only person she could ever count on or trust. Of course they had their fights and what not, but that was completely normal. They had almost the exact same interests and likes and dislikes. Only their personalities differed minutely.
Ethan had always been quite a charming fellow. Loved by classmates, adored by teachers. He was a little cocky, sometimes even obnoxious and self obsessed, but he was still a pretty decent guy. He had quite a few friends and he was fairly popular amongst the female crowd too. When he was with his friends, his sister would usually give him more space because she didn't always particularly like the people he would hang out with or vice versa. Their mutual friends were few in number, but still existed.
One thing the twins had in common was competition. They loved competing. Against each other, or other people. Anything, sports, contests, tests.. Video games. You name it. At this current moment they were looking forward to playing the newest game at their gaming center. They'd always had the membership but only went for the newer games. They heard Elysium was a very limited edition-type game but had very unique graphics and were told would be a very unique experience. The two were always up for a challenge, even if winning wasn't necessarily involved. They wouldn't miss the chance.
Once the two of them were shown into the room, they were kind of speechless. But then even Rosalyn had to say "Virtual reality? You've got to be kidding me." she hopped into the empty seat without anything further. She had been dreaming of this ever since she saw a movie like this once.
"Holy crap." muttered a stunned looking Ethan. He plopped himself onto the seat next to her, extremely excited. "I was so not expecting this. This is fucking brilliant."
