Sophie | 4 comments Hey!

This has become perhaps my last resort...
A few months ago whilstvtalking to a friend i remebered a book i read over a decade ago. I had enjoyed the book but had left it behind when i moved out of my Father and step mothers home...
The book has gotten lost due to their break up and i have no idea what the title is.

The story - it is written by a psychologist, and it is written from different perspectives of characters. A man and a woman, who were abused as children grow up dysfunctional and find each other, have a beautiful house, good careers, obsessive with each other and happy. They have a cat and it is treated as a normal person would a child. The couple dont want children and as a wedding present the man has a vasectomy, she has an eating disorder and doesnt notice until too late she is pregnant, it nearly breaks them up, they sue the company but are forced to have the baby whom they neglect, people are suspicious, social services get involved but never take the child away, eventually the couple leave the child in a cage whilst they go on holiday, she dies, the couple are caught, there is the court case, time apart in prison where the are supposedly communicating telepathically, he has an affair with another man in prison, she becomes depressed, they commit suicide same time and same night...

Any ideas???

Also, was this a true story or fiction?

Jill | 69 comments I'm assuming this is fiction if they are communicating telepathically.

Britney (BookDrunkSloth) (bookdrunksloth) | 51 comments Haha that makes sense! I forgot about that part!

Unless it's nonfiction and they claim to be communicating telepathically.

Sophie | 4 comments Hey, so sorry, i lost internet access for months, then lost my password!
Thanks for your posts anyway!

No, it wasnt based on a true story!

I first read it (i think) 2005

i know it was never particularly popular, i bought it from an airport as i had left the book i had been reading at home, and i remember thinking that although it was dark, it had been one of the best books i had read in a long time.
