i liked that this memoir (thats what this is right?) started off with an outsider perspective to give us an image of who paul kalanithi was. its strange realizing he wrote this as he was dying, but i suppose its a logical response to reflect upon your life when it's so close to ending. Verghese was right about kalanithi's writing style by the way, it definitely impressed me
