Edward L. (edwardlcote) | 24 comments Hi guys.

I published my first book in November but I still need more reviews for it. I can get free ebooks for reviewers.

I have also finished the first draft of book 2 in the series, Red Bird. I need beta readers for that. Again I can get you a free ebook of the first one so you're up to speed.

Thanks.

Sincerely Books (SincerelyBooks) Can you please tell me more about the book so I can decide if I would be a good reviewer for it? What is the genre? What is it about? What are the formats of the ebooks? sincerelybooks@gmail.com

Edward L. (edwardlcote) | 24 comments I'll send you some files since you posted your email, but I'll answer your questions here so that others can see. Violet Skies is the name of both the series and the first book in the series. The second book is Red Bird, due by Halloween. The books are YA Fantasy novellas, written in layers. On the surface they're just a light quick read, below that a coming of age tale, below that a treatise on the use of power, and then an allegory for the postmodern world.

In the first book, young Taya Mindaerel and her mother must flee their home or face certain death at the hands of a dark hunter and his man-eating horse. They seek the aid of the Great Magus Olbinaar, who does help them for a time, but for his own reasons. On the way they meet three boys who will help Taya on her journey. Alex is a charming scoundrel, Brand is a dour soldier, and Ogger is a wild creature.

Throughout the series I want to emphasize strong characters above all else. Each is vibrant yet iconic, a new face on a familiar archetype. Each has his or her own voice and is so compelling that the very narrative itself (3rd person) is warped around whoever has POV in any given scene. Der'aevis's scenes read very differently from Alex's, just for example. I'm often told that dialogue is one of my strengths.

Thanks.

Edward L. (edwardlcote) | 24 comments Book 2 is now on the third draft. I could use some fresh perspectives on it at this point if anyone is up for that. Thanks.

Raquel Zúñiga (raqzgonzalez) | 14 comments I'm in for both books if you still need it.

Edward L. (edwardlcote) | 24 comments Thanks again all. I just started working on the fourth draft with feedback on the third. Of course, I need more feedback so I can finish. I just might be able to get this thing done in five drafts.
