You raise some excellent points. Wonder why Gerard chose to make her so shallow in this respect.
I got the impression that if Wyatt had proposed first, she might have said yes to him.

I don't understand why Sophie didn't let Wyatt know how strong her feelings were for him early on. It was obvious how he felt about her.
As you may probably tell, it bugged me seriously that she allowed Diego to flirt with her shamelessly in front of Wyatt and didn't at least let Wyatt know she wasn't interested. And, why the *?% didn't she let him know he'd offered to pay the ransom? He's there risking his life and his brothers and she holds back information. I was angry.
No way do her feelings run as deep for Wyatt as his do for her. Near the end of the story, when she's in the room with Diego, she lets Wyatt leave and doesn't contact him for ten days??? Yes, she was scared of his job but couldn't she just tell him that?
No, I'm not a Sophie fan. I'm happy for Wyatt because she's who he wanted but I think he'd have been better off with the fabulous Carrie Granger.

Yes, she should have at least told him she had feelings for him, both before and in the present. He dropped everything to run to her and she owed him at least that much.
2. Did her reluctance to do so make sense?
A little. Hugh was in the same line of work and changed for the bad. I can understand her reluctance, but Wyatt's character deserved more consideration than she gave him.
3. Did she handle Hugh appropriately when he walked in on her and Wyatt? No. She acted ashamed and that broke Wyatt's heart.
4. Do her feelings run as deeply as his? No. Wyatt definitely loves deeper than Sophie. I just hope she deserves him.
5. Were you ever unclear about Wyatt's feelings? No. After he turned Carrie down, I knew he was a one and done guy, even if she chose another man.

Just wanted to get it all out there. Feel free to expound on other elements of their relationship.
