Does it count that I have 7 (owned and library) on my desk? Haven't started any of them yet, though.

1.
2. Read a book set (100%) in the other hemisphere of the world to where you live.
For this task, we will only look at Northern Hemisphere vs Southern Hemisphere
3. Read a book set in season different to the season you are currently experiencing.
4. Read a book where character works in retail. Hint: bookshops
5. Sales! Read a book you got for free (can be a gift or a review copy) OR bought at significantly reduced price.
6. The Shack by William Paul Young
7. Read a book with at least 1 million ratings.
8.
12 of the Titles are: 1. Lincoln the Lionhearted Leonberger, 2. The Elephant Seal Who Fought the Ferocious Dog, 3. The Lifeguarding Dolphins, 4. The Cat Who Faced Fire, 5. The Valiant Hippo at the River, 6. Two Good-Gorilla Tales, 7. A Parrot's Alarm, 8. The Seal Who Buoyed the Sinking Mutt, 9. The Mare Who Stopped the Mad Cow, 10. One Elephant's Startling Compassion, 11. The Male Cat Mama, 12. Two Pups Against the Flames.
9. Unlikely Loves: 43 Heartwarming True Stories from the Animal Kingdom by Jennifer S. Holland
10. 10. Read book where title (excluding subtitle/series name) OR author's name (first, middle, last) that has a total of 12 letters

I can't tell whether they will fit any or not, Sarah, you may have to read it to find out where/when they're set in. Sorry

Same with me. I read a couple thinking they'd work for a task, only to realize that I have already read a book on the task they fit into. :/

ooh, that's a good 1 & I'll let you have this one!
Are you up to 10 yet? Is anyone? Are we going to have Round 2 unlock for August?

That makes 7 for me, plus I've read 2 of the short stories (I haven't been a fan of short stories for decades, so this is fairly onerous so far). I am reading one of the other books right now, another is a quick read, but I have other books I have to get through first. If this were all I was doing, I'd be done by now, but before this started I'd set my sights on coming in first in something else, so have made that my priority for now ;). In the fall I can't possibly win large challenges, so I'm doing it when I can (well, TRYING to when I can).

Nice, Sassafrass!
Karin, it usually means that we continue with this round, but we get to plan/see the tasks for the second round.

You can continue reading for Round 1 or abandon it, as you like.
You can read for both Rounds simultaneously.
Round 2 coming right up!

ok.... I wasn't thinking about this with my initial question...but can a book be used to complete a task in round 1 AND in round 2? I imagine not...but thought I would ask.
Nevermind...just saw the No Crossover of books rule.

If you don't see any short stories you want to read at the moment, then why not work on round 2 until you see a good one?
