j a m m e s (thepanbigensister) | 11096 comments Charles grinned, " Great," Charles said as he stepped out of his litter, he brushed himself off and looked around. " Follow me Lance," Charles said in his best demanding tone, he began making his way towards the small building, he looked over his shoulder at Lance and subtly winked.

message 102: by Just Joe (new)

Just Joe (justjoe) | 186 comments Lance nodded and stood slightly behind him. The others stayed in place to make sure nothing was vandalized or stolen. Lance was the best in combat so they all trusted him to take care of the Prince. He smirked a little but dropped it almost as soon as it appeared.

message 103: by j a m m e s (new)

j a m m e s (thepanbigensister) | 11096 comments A man hurried up to the building and held the door open for Charles, in which Charles smiled and nodded his thanks, " Thank you, kind sir," Charles said gently before he walked in and looked around the shop. " Look for a book appropriate for children," Charles said to Lance as he immediately went into search for a book.

message 104: by Just Joe (new)

Just Joe (justjoe) | 186 comments Lance nodded and did the same, though was never very far from him. He also never left his sight. He frowned at all the books, feeling that they were too long until he happened upon a hand written book with painted pictures. His brows shot up and he walked to Charles "How about this one?"

message 105: by j a m m e s (new)

j a m m e s (thepanbigensister) | 11096 comments Charles turned on his heels and looked at Lance before looking down at the book in the man's hands, " Let me see," Charles said as he gently took the book and opened it up. He began reading silently to himself, scanning the paintings on each page.

message 106: by Just Joe (new)

Just Joe (justjoe) | 186 comments He watched him hopefully, smiling slightly that he seemed to have pleased him with his choice. It seemed easy enough for a child to read, plus it had some wonderful colors and pictures inside to help illustrate what was happening.

message 107: by j a m m e s (new)

j a m m e s (thepanbigensister) | 11096 comments Charles smiled and closed the book, " Perfect, she'll love this one," Charles said as he approached the man who stood at the counter. " Good day, good sir," Charles said, bowing to the man. " I would like to purchase this book,"

message 108: by Just Joe (new)

Just Joe (justjoe) | 186 comments Lance raised a brow slightly as the Prince bowed. Then again he was always kind and cared little for stature. Than bowed deeply back, "Good day your highness" he said in a whispy, slightly crackly voice. He moved slowly, back hunched, and feet shuffling. He grabbed some paper and twine then came back, "Shall I wrap it for you my lord?" his bushy, grey brows raised slightly on his wrinkled face. "And the cost is one copper piece"

message 109: by j a m m e s (new)

j a m m e s (thepanbigensister) | 11096 comments Charles smiled softly at the man, " Call me Charles, sir," Charles said with a small chuckle, " and if its not too much of a hassle, I would love it wrapped," Charles added as he looked over at Lance, " It's one copper piece," Charles said, since Lance held the money.

message 110: by Just Joe (new)

Just Joe (justjoe) | 186 comments Lance smiled a little and slid a hand into his pocket. He produced a copper piece and stepped forward. He waited as the old man slid old fingers across the book and paper. He finished wrapping it, tying a bow on the front to keep the paper together. He slid it forward and held out his hand as Lance placed it in his palm. "Thank you very much Lord Charles" he smiled, most of his teeth brown or missing. He nodded his head deeply, "Should you be needing anything else?"

message 111: by j a m m e s (new)

j a m m e s (thepanbigensister) | 11096 comments Charles watched the old man curiously, he smiled when the man finished wrapping the book, " I would be needing nothing else, thank you for your service, Lance, give him a generous tip and we shall head off to the clothes shop," Charles said as he bowed to the old man and made his way out of the shop.

message 112: by Just Joe (new)

Just Joe (justjoe) | 186 comments Lance nodded and pulled out two gold pieces for the man who's eyes went wide in shock, "Oh thank you sir Charles thank you!" he cried happily as he took the money. Lance smiled kindly at him and followed the Prince out. "Such generosity My Charles" he murmured in teasing awe.

message 113: by j a m m e s (new)

j a m m e s (thepanbigensister) | 11096 comments Charles blushed slightly and shook his head, " It's in my nature to be generous," Charles answered as he made his way out of the shop, he looked around and his eyes settled on the clothing shop a little bit away from the Book shop. " Come on, we can walk to the clothes shop," Charles said to Lance.

message 114: by Just Joe (new)

Just Joe (justjoe) | 186 comments He chuckled softly, "true, as ever" he murmured once more and nodded as he said to head to the clothing shop. He motioned for the others to follow as well. They walked closely behind them and settled near the entrance, should he need to be carried. Lance followed him inside and they were instantly greeted by the couple who owned the store.
They bowed, garbed in fine silks and the latest fashion. "You flatter us with your graceful appearance" the woman said.
"What shall you like today my lord?" the man asked, holding up a royal blue tunic embroidered with golden threads in a pattern of flowers and fleur de lis. "Should this fit your taste?"

message 115: by j a m m e s (new)

j a m m e s (thepanbigensister) | 11096 comments Charles held his head down as he walked beside Lance, when they entered the shop they were greeted immediately by a cute little couple, one of them presented him a royal blue tunic with golden embroidered threads in shapes of flowers and such. " Ah, no thank you kind sir, I have been told by multiple sources that you hold a very expensive and beautiful children's dress, are my sources correct?" Charles asked kindly.

message 116: by Just Joe (new)

Just Joe (justjoe) | 186 comments The woman's brows raised, why should he be in need of a children's dress? "But of course" she said without skipping a beat. "If you'll follow me I would gladly show you to the children's clothing area" she smiled and turned to lead him through some racks to the back. She moved somethings aside so that only the dresses were visible. "What color would you prefer?"

Lance followed skeptically, children's clothes at the back? Interesting. He looked around, making sure there was no one else in the store which was true. He never strayed to far from Charles.

message 117: by j a m m e s (new)

j a m m e s (thepanbigensister) | 11096 comments Charles followed the woman deeper into the shop, he thought the same thing as
Lance, ' Children's dresses in the back? how odd,' Charles thought before he stopped and watched the woman move things aside so that the dresses were visible. " That green one, the one with little bunnies and flowers, the maids daughter would love that!" Charles said a little enthusiastically.

message 118: by Just Joe (new)

Just Joe (justjoe) | 186 comments Lance's eyes darted around, something was off. Why would they put these in the back? It didn't make sense. No one knew they were coming today...had they anticipated it?

The woman pulled the silky dress from the rack. It was rather long and would need a hoop skirt beneath it, and the arms went to the elbows before coming to a point that would hang near the floor. Lance nodded approvingly. "Shall you be needing a hoop skirt?" She asked, so it was for a maid, how generous. She smiled a bit at the thought.

message 119: by j a m m e s (new)

j a m m e s (thepanbigensister) | 11096 comments Charles smiled softly and thought about it, " Yes, I would imagine that the dress would look better with a hoop skirt," Charles said with a fond shake of his head as he stepped forward and examined the dress. " How much is this?" Charles asked, stepping back so that he was standing extremely close to Lance, in all his years of spending time with Lance, he's learned to pick up on a few things, and he saw how Lance eyes darted around.

message 120: by Just Joe (new)

Just Joe (justjoe) | 186 comments "With the hoop it will be 25 gold pieces" she said. She turned her head slightly, "HILDA" she shouted, making Lance tense every muscle in his body and take a step closer to Charles. "Children's Hoop!" She turned back with a small smile and moved toward the front very slowly, "If you'll follow me to the front" She assured, still moving quite slowly which had been a change from her brisk walk back here.

Lance stood directly behind Charles, walking as his heels, he licked his lips, ready to whistle at a moments notice. They were half way to the front when two men happened up on them with daggers. Lance whistled as loud as his could, drawing his long sword, "Litter, NOW" He shouted.

message 121: by j a m m e s (new)

j a m m e s (thepanbigensister) | 11096 comments Charles followed the woman to the front with directly behind him, but as they were nearing the front, two men jumped out and Lance was suddenly shouting at him to get to the Litter. He did as told and rushed out to the Litter, he got into it.

message 122: by Just Joe (new)

Just Joe (justjoe) | 186 comments One of the other guards rushed in to help Lance and ensure the Prince's safety. The other stayed at the litter to stop an attack outside.

Lance took down one of the attackers, but not without receiving a cut to his cheek. They destroyed some clothing and the couple screamed and ran, seeing that their emissaries were falling. They were able to sneak away and with all the money they made.
The other guard also had trouble but they were able to take this one into custody. Lance did a search of the premises and frowned, finding the bodies of the original owners stuffed into bags at the back. He sighed heavily as he grabbed the hoop skirt and dress for Charles, knowing he would appreciate it in the end.

He stepped out front and opened the door, "Are you alright your Grace?" he asked, a tinge of fear in his eyes. Who were these people and how could they be so bold as to attack the Prince in broad day light?

message 123: by j a m m e s (new)

j a m m e s (thepanbigensister) | 11096 comments Charles wasn't afraid as one should be, he's been through a lot worse then getting attacked by a couple of amateurs. He was worried for Lance, however, he loved Lance and he didn't wan him to get hurt even if it's because he's protecting him. He fiddled with his thumbs as he listened and waited for Lance to come out, he let out a sigh of relief when Lance came back out, he moved forward and hugged Lance. " I'm fine, I'm not hurt," Charles reassured before he quickly sat back. He noticed the cut on Lances cheek, " Lets hurry back to the Castle," Charles murmured.

message 124: by Just Joe (new)

Just Joe (justjoe) | 186 comments Lance relaxed as he was hugged, his eyes closing in relief. He smiled a little and handed him the folded dress, "I was able to grab this...and we do have a captive" he said. "We will get something out of him I swear it" he said, his eyes growing firm and determined. He closed the door and whistled once more, waving his arm in a circle above his head, pointing to the castle. They took off at a brisk jog, hoping that no one else would give them trouble.

message 125: by j a m m e s (new)

j a m m e s (thepanbigensister) | 11096 comments Charles stayed calm in his litter, or at least tried to stay calm, his eyes occasionally staring out of the little window on the door, he didn't say a word, he didn't do a thing. All he wanted to do was get to the Castle and patch up Lance while his father interrogated the captive. Charles could hardly breathe but he was managing, he needed to calm himself down before something happened

message 126: by Just Joe (new)

Just Joe (justjoe) | 186 comments They arrived in no time and Lance shouted some orders at people. There was a lot of hustle and bustle for a moment and charles was taken to the castle Entrance. He was let out and Lance held his hand out to help him down, knowing that he'd probably be a little freaked out. "Come on, lets get you inside but then I have to talk with him alright?" He looked sympathetic.

message 127: by j a m m e s (new)

j a m m e s (thepanbigensister) | 11096 comments Charles said nothing to Lance at first, but then he shook his head, " Its just an amateur Lance, they thought they could attack me in broad daylight and they failed, my father will take care of the investigation," Charles said. " All I want to do right now is take care of that cut of yours," Charles whispered so that only Lance could hear him.

" CHARLES! Where's my son?!" came the scared tone of the King, he pushed past people and made his way over to Charles and Lance, " Oh thank god you guys are okay," the king said as he hugged Charles too him.

message 128: by Just Joe (new)

Just Joe (justjoe) | 186 comments Lance was about say something back when he heard the king. He dropped Charles' hand gently and stood at attention. He relaxed a bit when the King hugged his son. It was nice to see some affection from the man, to know that he truly care for his son. At that moment he started to realize how much the cut was bleeding. He frowned a little as he wiped at the blood on his face and pulled back a dirty and bloody palm. He looked around for a cloth or something to wipe his face and someone handed him something. He wiped his face gently, the pains tarting to hit him. He held the cloth over his face tightly, hoping to stop the bleeding.

((Sorry! I didn't get a notification :( ))

The King stepped back and smiled softly at Charles, " Lance, take my son up to his room, later you and I will interrogate this hell-spawn," The King said as he ruffled Charles hair. Charles grumbled under his breath and grabbed Lance's hand, he began walking towards the Castle, The King didn't seem to care this time about Charles and Lance holding hands.

message 130: by Just Joe (new)

Just Joe (justjoe) | 186 comments Lance straightened and bowed, "Yes your grace" he said and blushed a bit when Charles took his hand. He glanced at the King but he seemed not to mind which was unusual. Perhaps he didn't care? He followed after Charles and squeezed his fingers gently. He was getting a little light headed as the pain set in and the bleeding didn't stop, he was looking rather pail and the room was slowly starting to spin. He paused, pulling Charles back a bit as he let go and put his hand on his knee. "Give me a moment to catch my breath" he said softly as he closed his eyes tightly.

((me thinks Lance was cut with a poisoned knife and they weren't amateurs after all? Cool with you?))

(( sure, let's see how it plays out ))

Charles continued walking to the Castle, but Lance stopped him and pulled him back, saying that he needed a moment to catch his breath. Charles noticed how pale Lance looked and how much blood the male had lost, " You need to keep those eyes opened," Charles said as he approached Lance, he would need to carry him in his arms into the Castle and he needed to do it quickly. But there was a strange smell he noticed as he approached Lance, " Crap, Lance they weren't amateurs, they knew what they were doing..." Charles said as he expertly but shakily lifted Lance into his arms and began to make his way quickly into the Castle, asking the Butler to gather the Healer. The Butler quickly ran off and many other staff workers approached and asked if Charles needed help, " Back off," Charles ordered, they all nodded and listened.

message 132: by Just Joe (new)

Just Joe (justjoe) | 186 comments "I can walk, It's nothing, really, put me down" he complained, feeling that he looked weak this way. He struggled against him, knowing he was shaky and hoped that Charles would put him down. "Really, I'm fine. I've just lost some blood and need to sleep it off and have it wrapped, honestly" he assured meekly as his vision started to go in and out. He frowned a bit and finally gave up, leaning into him as he called for healers and took him to his bed chambers. He was sweating up a storm, getting paler by the minute and feeling more and more weak. He held tightly to Charles' hand, fearing the worst, what poison had they used? He finally recognized the signs himself.

j a m m e s (thepanbigensister) | 11096 comments
Once reaching his sleeping chambers, he settled Lance into his bed and quickly entered his bathroom to gather some warm and cold cloths. He carefully wiped the wound clean and didn't care if it stung or hurt Lance, " You're talkative when you've been poisoned," Charles muttered. He sat there and held Lance's hand, the sound of light footsteps approaching his sleeping chambers, meaning that his younger sister or the healer was coming. He let out a sigh of relief, he motioned the healer over and told her everything, she nodded and began to get to work, gathering her needed materials. " You'll need to keep him awake, and hydrated," The healer said as she inspected the wound; Charles just gave her a deadpanned stare, ' Oh really? no i thought I should let my lover die right here on my bed, while he held my hand in a death grip!' Charles thought sarcastically before he told the butler to gather a pair of pyjamas for both him and Lance, and to gather something for Lance to drink when he needed it. " Stay awake, baby," Charles whispers, only loud enough for Lance to hear him, he smoothed back Lance's hair and smiled warmly down at the older male.

message 134: by Just Joe (new)

Just Joe (justjoe) | 186 comments Lance was reeling, lights were flashing, or was he just blinking? Sound was dampened and his ear were ringing. He clutched at Charles' hand, "Don't leave me" he whispered as he struggled to stay away. He heard the word baby and looked to it, Charles. His sweet Charles was beside him. Stay awake the words lingered in his ear as his breathing slowed and the pain of the healer's work was growing too great. It burned, why was he burning? His whole body was burning and he writhed in pain, crying out and struggling until he felt strong hands hold him down.

message 135: by j a m m e s (new)

j a m m e s (thepanbigensister) | 11096 comments
He watched the Healer as she worked, she took something from her bag that supposedly helped get rid of some of the poison, " It's not deadly, let's be thankful for that," The Healer murmured, but when Lance began crying out and struggling. " Hold him down!" The Healer said, and immediately Charles jumped up and kneeled over Lance, holding his arms and legs down as the Healer began working on getting rid of some of the posion.

message 136: by Just Joe (new)

Just Joe (justjoe) | 186 comments Lance struggled for a bit, but grew tired and went limp. As she removed the poison he relaxed more and more. He sighed heavily as he tried to keep his eyes open, but sleep seemed so good. His head lolled from side to side as he would drift off then come to when his head moved too quickly. When she was finally down lance looked more at piece. "Water" he murmured through dry lips. Some of his color returned which was good.

message 137: by j a m m e s (new)

j a m m e s (thepanbigensister) | 11096 comments Charlie quickly got off of Lance and walked over to the Butler, he grabbed the glass of water and walked back over to Lance. The nurse helps Lance sit up, " Alright, here you go," Charlie murmured, he helped Lance take a sip of water and then set it off to the side. He wiped off Lance's chin and looked at the nurse who began packing up, " The Posion isn't as toxic, but I would refrain from any oral activities, such as kissing and sex," The nurse murmured quietly.
