I recently got a good, positive, and constructive review on my story. The only problem is that the person shelved it under "homeschooled authors". I'm not homeschooled, and I don't want to mislead people--but I know that contacting people about their reviews is usually frowned upon. Do I leave it alone, or should I contact them in this case?

Will Once (willonce) | 210 comments Personally, I'd leave it well alone. Talking to readers about reviews is sometimes known as the "author's big mistake". You might get away with it or you might not. The general advice is usually not to take the risk.

Marie Silk | 223 comments Yes it is bad form to contact a reader over something like shelves. Don't worry, as long as your books are correctly categorized on your book page, you are not misleading anyone :).

Thanks, everyone! Sorry if it was a stupid question--I'm completely new to this GR author program. :)

Sharon Anderson PhD | 5 comments OOOPS. New to this too, No comment from me but did understand that is not good form, so the question was not stupid because somebody learned from it! Well done You!

Will Once (willonce) | 210 comments No worries. The only really dumb question is the one that you should have asked, but didn't! ;-)
