Oh I love this little book. Its quirky humour appeals to me. Many, many moons ago my mother recommended it to me. She had a little dusky green hard back which she read and reread. If you enjoy P.G. Wodehouse I think you'll like this. I have read this a couple of times. Now if I could only find my copy of it, it might be time for a reread. Anyhow, I hope you enjoy!

I haven't found mine yet either- but I have downloaded one in case I can't find it in time.

Started listening to the audio book (I've read the book itself several times, but not recently) while lying out in my hammock looking over the water and enjoying the lovely sunshine and the breeze off the water. I was listening to their account of -- well, no spoilers here -- and anyhow thinking what a good life I have and glad I'm not in their boat!

But won't you miss the illustrations- I love the ones in my ed- though can't at the moment recall if they were the original ones or not.

Oh my, oh my, Everyman, your description ignites a certain covetousness. It even arouses the little green man of envy! You know, Lady C, much as I love beautiful illustrations I'd have difficulty in swapping a hammock for them. :-D

Thank you. Thank you. Oh My God! I think I remember how funny she was... Then I SEE how funny and I'm toast.

I LOVE this book. It makes me laugh out loud, even on my hundredth read. I really like the audiobook, because the reader highlights the satire.
