Hi everyone!

Here's a little Q&A to clearify the idea of the "BOTM".

What is the BOTM?
The BOTM is a monthly readalong in which every member can choose to participate. Afterwards, there will be a general discussion for the participants and for the people who already read the book.

Is there a theme for each BOTM?

How does it work?
1. Every member can suggest one book for the upcoming BOTM in the "BOTM {month + year} suggestions" thread, once the thread has been opened.
2. The thread will be closed for new suggestions at a certain date, which will be stated in the description of the thread.
3. A poll will be opened, containing 6 of your suggested books.
4. The poll will be closed at the end of the month.
5. A thread will be opened on the first day of the month to discuss the book during the readalong.

How are the 6 suggested books that end up in the poll determined?
- First of, I'll look at the amount of extra recommendations of a suggested book. So when a person suggests a book, I'll look at the amount of people that react (in the same suggestions thread!) positive on the book and are enthusiast about the book.
- Then I'll look at the average rating on GoodReads. The higher the rating, the more chances it will end up in the poll.

Is there a reading schedule during the monthly readalong?
There is. For example:
Day 1/2 - read till page 50
Day 3/4 - read till page 100
Day 5/6 - .... Etc.
But this, of course, depends on the amount of pages the book of the month has. The amount of pages will be divided evenly over the month.

How can I participate?
If you want to join the readalong: you can simply participate by joining the readalong in the "BOTM {month + year}: {book name} thread. Your updates should look somewhat like this:
Day 1/2 - I just read till page 50 and my thoughts are .... etc.
Be sure to mark your spoilers!

If you just want to join the discussion afterwards: you'll have to wait till the readalong has ended. The moment for the general discussion will be stated in the reading schedule. This is the moment for you to share your general thoughts! Again: make sure you mark your spoilers.

Hi,
I have a question. How many months it would take before a genre that was selected for a particular month can enter the polls again.

@Palash - I would say a year, to make sure the themes througout the year are as diverse as possible. I count genres as themes as well. You can vote on the poll that is up (here ), for your favourite BOTM theme!
After a year I'll add the used themes again, if you want to :)
